Dear Parents/Guardians, This is another reminder that there will be No School on Friday, May 24th and No School on Monday, May 27th for the Memorial Day Holiday. Additionally there will be No School on Tuesday, May 28th for a Snow Day Give Back Day.

On Friday, May 3rd we celebrated the character trait of perseverance. This month's winners were Juliana Hartley, Niall O'Neill, Haley Fritz, Elizabeth Weingates, Zaelynn Whitson, Saige Richardson, Reed Shultes, Ronan Araniva, and Riley Clum. This month we are celebrating the character trait of positivity. Our last assembly will be held on Thursday, June 6 at 9:00 am in the auditorium. Our 3rd graders will be presenting. We hope to see you there!

Reminder that our PARP Muffins and a Book event is happening on June 4th from 9-9:30 a.m. RSVP slips went home with students. Please return them ASAP.

Looking back... On Friday, March 3rd, we celebrated the trait of Respect at our Wildcat Wonders assembly. The following students were recognized for showing respect at school: Arya Rossman, Karter Robinson, Tessa Bohringer, Kinsley Robinson, Tamzin Proudman, Jameson Bruck, Colin Tyree, and Aliegha Molinaro. Congratulations to our Wildcat Wonders!

***To clarify-there will be CROP today (Wednesday, May 22nd)*** **Update regarding our Early Dismissal tomorrow** We will be picking up our afternoon students at 1:30 pm tomorrow to ensure they arrive in time for our 2:00 pm dismissal.

GCCS Early Dismissal May 23rd. We are sorry for the inconvenience. Due to a shortage of bus drivers, we will need to dismiss students at 2 p.m. Additionally, our CROP program will be canceled.

Please join us for our annual Modified, Junior Varsity, and Varsity Athletic Awards Ceremony on June 12th at 6:30 p.m. in the main Gymnasium.

Reminder that Donuts with a Book is tomorrow, May 21st from 9-9:30 a.m.

Students in the home technological systems class were eager to get hands-on experience in the shop area. In planning for this year's career fair, Mrs. Tyree inquired with Mr. Vamosy about making something for our presenters. The home technology systems class made cutting boards as part of the class, and each presenter was given a cutting board as a thank-you for taking the time out of their schedules to benefit the future of our students. All students in the class participated in the process of making the cutting boards. The students took part in estimating the material needed, cross-cutting and ripping the lumber, the gluing process, and designing fixtures for both the drilling and sanding process of the handle. The school logo was engraved using the school's laser, and tung oil was used in the finishing process. Each student in the class received a cutting board as well.

The 2024-2005 Budget and Election Vote is tomorrow, May 21, 2024. Voting will be in the auditorium from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. Please DO NOT park in the bus line unless using the handicapped parking spaces. Parking is available in the two lots across the road from the school.
