Dear Galway Central School District Community,

As you know, the CDC has changed its guidance concerning masking. During summer school, districts were allowed to choose between the NY Forward guidance and the CDC guidance. We chose the CDC guidance, which at the time, did not require masking. Beginning today, the district will follow the new guidance which recommends universal indoor masking for all administrators, teachers, staff, students, and visitors to school regardless of vaccination status.

As we want to take all precautions to ensure the safety of our school community, Galway Central School District is updating its protocols as follows:
Masks will be required indoors when classes are in session or students are in the building.
Students and school staff are not required to wear a mask when utilizing outdoor spaces.
All students will be required to wear masks while on Galway Central School District transportation.

This guidance is for summer only. We continue to wait for guidance for the 2021-2022 school year and will communicate with you that information as soon as we receive it from the state.

Thank you,

Brita Donovan
