SADD is sponsoring Red Ribbon Week starting on Monday. Our mission is to keep kids drug free, and eliminate alcohol, tobacco, smoking, and other drug use. Please participate in Red Ribbon Week to show your support for drug free students. 

Monday is the kick off to Red Ribbon week, so please wear red!

Tuesday we want to put a cap on drugs day, so wear a hat!

Wednesday we want to put drugs to sleep, so wear some comfy pajamas! 

Thursday is the day to team up against drugs, so wear your favorite sports team apparel!

Friday will show we are too smart for drugs, so wear your college gear! Thank you in advance for showing your spirit Eagle Nation!

October 18 

Today is Wednesday, October 18th, and it is an A day. 

We’re so happy you’re here! Today’s lunch is cheesy breadsticks.

 

The modified cross country team had a great showing in Schoharie on Tuesday afternoon. The modified boys won their race against Schoharie and BKW. Logan Verity had a pace PR. Ailey Nelson came in first in the girls race, with Mikaela Meilunas close behind.  All modified runners had strong kicks at the finish. Great race Eagles! 


Last night in WAC League cross country action Amelia Jordan came in 2nd in the girls race and Elenor Douglas came in 5th. The Varsity Boys defeated Schoharie 18 to 48, Notre Dame 15 to 48 and Schenevus 15-45. Simon Evans came in first, Cody Schneider came in 2nd and Brayden Sheft, Kolt Wojtowec and Jacob Bruchac came in 4th, 5th and 6th. Congratulations to the cross country runners!


The JV volleyball team defeated Fonda-Fultonville in three sets yesterday. After winning the first set 25-17, the girls dropped a tough fought second set 23-25 before battling back to win the third set 25-21. Maggie Newsom and Grace Dugan combined for 15 assists, Kristina Becker had 7 kills, and Teigen Brennan had 10 digs. Awesome game Eagles! 


The girls’ varsity soccer team won 3-0 against Catholic Central Bishop Gibbons in their first round of sectionals last night. Special shoutouts to Emma Mitchell for scoring her first varsity goal. Taylor’s goal was assisted by Emma and Emma's goal was assisted by Mae Budris. The Eagles’ third goal was scored by Abby Gullett, assisted by Taylor. Keeper Beena McElhinney gained the Eagles a shutout with 9 saves. The team plays their second round of sections on Friday against Chatham. Good luck and congratulations Eagles!


Congratulations to the varsity volleyball team as they defeated Fonda last in straight sets to clinch its eighth consecutive league championship.  The Eagles were led by Amber Kolpakas with 13 kills and 12 digs, while Taylor Garrison and Courtney Smith each had 6 kills. Kaylee Colabello had 27 digs and Kiera Allen dished out 24 assists. Galway moves to 9-0 in the league and has pushed their league winning streak to 72 games. Great job Eagles!

October 16 

 

Today is Mocha Monday, October 16th, and it is an A day. 

We’re so happy you’re here! Today’s lunch is grilled cheese and tomato soup.

 

On Friday night, the boys’ varsity soccer team came back from a two goal deficit to tie BKW and Duanesburg. Galway came back strong in the second half off an amazing direct kick from Francesco Fabbri Medina. Next Chris Maher blasted in a long shot from 30 feet out to tie the score. It was a hard fought, close game, however after one period of overtime, it was called due to darkness. Good game Eagles! 

 

The girls’ varsity soccer Team won 3-2 against Canajoharie-Fort Plain on Saturday, earning 3rd place in their tournament at Schoharie. Special shoutouts to Kendra Peterson and Eva Anderson for coming out to support the team in spite of their injuries. The goals were scored by Mae Budris, assisted by Beena McElheinney, Mae Budris, assisted by Anna Spadaro and Anna Spadaro, assisted by Lilly Jessop. Keeper Beena McElheinney had 11 saves. Congratulations Eagles!


Congratulations to the modified cross country team for their work in the Burnt Hills Invy this past weekend at the Saratoga Spa State Park. Ailey Nelson won a medal for her 73rd place finish out of 226 runners in the girls' modified race.  Nate Mele placed 48th in the boys’ race, followed 12 seconds later by Nathaniel McDevitt who took a 65th place medal! Nate Mele's race time was 33 seconds faster than his race time on the course last year. Great job Eagles! 

 

The varsity cross country team also participated in the Burnt Hills Invy this weekend. Over 80 schools had teams entered. Eleanor Douglas was the top finisher for the girls. Logan Miner led the boys’ freshman team, finishing in 11th place. Simon Evans came in 10th place in the varsity race, leading the team to a 9th place finish. Well done Eagles!

October 12

Today is Thursday, October 12th, and it is an A day.

Happy birthday today to seventh grader Kathryn Ferguson! 

 

Congratulations to the boys’ modified soccer team who beat Hadley-Luzerne Tuesday with a score of 6 to 3. Thanks to an all around team effort, they were able to keep Hadley-Luzerne off the scoreboard in the second half. Great game, Eagles! 

 

The JV volleyball team defeated OESJ in two sets last night. The team was led by Grace Dugan with 9 assists, Teigen Brennan with 6 kills, and Sadie Stead with 8 digs. The team remains undefeated in the WAC. Great job Eagles! 

 

Congratulations to the varsity boys soccer team who traveled to Mayfield yesterday to win 3-0. Marcos Del Rio Fernandez Aller scored 2 goals and Eli Montague scored 1 goal. Chris Maher, Colin Anderson, and Francesco Fabbri Medina all played outstanding games. The whole defense played well with Ethan Watrobski and Jack Flint at the top of their games.

 

The girls’ modified Blue volleyball team defeated Amsterdam last night in an exciting two set match. Scores were 25-23 and 25-21. They are 8-1 overall on the season so far. The Gold team played a great game, winning 1 out of 3 sets with the Amsterdam Rams. Great job, Eagles!

 

Congratulations to the varsity volleyball team as they defeated OESJ last night in 3 sets. Galway was led by Amber Kolpakas with 16 kills as she broke the career record for Kills. On her 11th swing she put down her 9th kill for the match which moved her into first place as she got 1479. Taylor Garrison had 6 kills and Kiera Allen dished out 27 assists. The Eagles move to 7-0 in the league and 8-2 overall. This league win also gives the team their 70th straight league win!   Come out and support the Eagles tonight as they host power house Burnt Hills in a non-league match! Good luck!

October 11

Happy birthday today to sixth grader Dakota Johnson, sixth grader Avery Menge, freshman Madelyn Schaperjahn, and Mrs. Decker! 

 

The JV volleyball team defeated Broadalbin-Perth in three sets last night. After losing the first set 25-23, they came back to win the second set 25-13 and the third set 25-20. Grace Dugan and Kaitlyn DelSavio combined for 20 assists, Teigen Brennan and Kristina Becker combined for 12 kills, and Gianna Viscariello and Sadie Stead combined for 18 digs. Great game Eagles! 

 

The modified cross country team ran a muddy race in Duanesburg yesterday! Nate Mele came in 2nd in the boys race with Nathaniel McDevitt about 30 seconds behind and Mason Bourdeau a minute behind him. Mikaela Meilunas came in first for the girls! Great race Eagles! 

 

In WAC league varsity cross country action yesterday at Duanesburg, the boys won again by defeating Duanesburg. Simon Evans came in first, Cody Schneider came in 3rd, Brayden Sheft, Jacob Bruchac, Will Anuszewski and Kolt Wojtowecz captured the next 4 places in that order. Amelia Jordan came in 2nd and Eleanor Douglas came in 3rd for the girls. Well done Eagles! 

 

This morning a representative is here to meet with the Seniors about graduation gear. The Sophomore class will meet with Jostens at the beginning of 2nd period to learn more about class rings. Students will be called to the auditorium at the appropriate time.

Congratulations to the varsity boys’ soccer team who beat Notre Dame Bishop Gibbons on Friday with a score of 3-1! Marcos Del Rio Fernandez Aller scored a hat trick in Galway's victory against a very tough team. Chris Maher and Francesco Fabbri Medina were key in Galway controlling the midfield with Colin Anderson playing a very good game coming close several times to scoring. Francesco also scored an assist for Galway. Galway's 4 defenders Adam Hay, Carson Eagan, Eben Perkins, and Ethan Watrobski put up a tight defense and were able to neutralize the majority of NDBG attacks. Galway had 16 shots on goal and Galway's keeper Jack Flint made 5 saves. Great job Eagles! 

 

The girls’ varsity soccer team beat Canajoharie-Fort Plain on Friday with a score of 1-0. Special shoutout to keeper Beena McElhienney for her penalty save that gave the Eagles the shutout. Beena had 9 saves. The goal was scored by Eva Anderson with an assist from Emma Mitchell. Congratulations Eagles!


Marcos Del Rio Fernandez Aller scored his third hat trick in a row as Galway defeated Hadley Luzerne 6-1 in a non-league game yesterday. Eli Montague and Francesco Fabbri Medina each had a goal and an assist. Colin Anderson scored a goal and Trevor Bombard had 2 assists.The Galway midfield was spot on with Chris Maher and Francesco moving the ball well and maintaining possession. Chase Maher and Trevor Bombard both put in strong performances as well as the Galway defense composed of Ethan Watrobski, Adam Hay, Eben Perkins, and Carson Eagan. Galway had 21 shots on goal. Jack Flint had 4 saves including a diving save and a tap over the crossbar. Great job Eagles!

Congratulations to the golf team for finishing out their season with an 18 hole round in 80 degree temperatures. Special shout out to Andy Miller whose play earned him top ten honors! He was also voted to the 1st team WAC All Stars after a second team placement last year. Congrats Andy!

 

The varsity boys’ soccer team dug down deep to overcome a 2 goal deficit at half time yesterday to defeat Canjo/Fort Plain 4-3 in overtime. Marcos Del Rio Fernandez Aller scored a hat trick with Francesco Fabbri Medina making a great shot in the first overtime period for the victory. It was an extremely physical game with the Canjo/Fort Plain players trying their best to take Marcos and Fran out of the game, but both boys stayed tough and pushed through the pain to finish the game. Francesco had 2 assists and Jack Flint made a couple of key saves. Eli Montague, Chase Maher, Trevor Bombard, and Aidan Reekie-Mell did a great job controlling the outside mid play. Great job Eagles! 

 

The girls’ varsity soccer team won 1-0 against Fonda-Fultonville last night in a hard fought game. Eva Anderson scored the Eagles’ goal with an assist from Anna Spadaro. Special shout out to Kendra Peterson and Olivia Davison-Gauss. We wish you both a speedy recovery. Keeper Beena McElhienney had 11 saves. Congratulations Eagles!

 

The JV volleyball team defeated Mekeel in 2 sets with scores of 25-11 and 25-8. The team had a great night serving with a combined 16 aces. The team was led by Grace Dugan with 9 assists, Teigen Brennan with 5 kills, and Sadie Stead with 12 digs. Awesome game Eagles! 

 

Congratulations to the varsity volleyball team as they defeated Mekeel Christian last night in 3 sets by the scores of 25-13, 25-12, 25-15.  Galway was led by Amber Kolpakas with 14 kills and Taylor Garrison with 10 kills, 4 aces, and 2 blocks.  Kiera Allen dished out 24 assists.  Galway moves to 6-0 in the league and 7-2. Well done, Eagles!

October 4 

Today is Wednesday, October 4th, and it is an A day. 

Today’s lunch is cheesy breadsticks and salad.

 

 Last night, the Eagles hosted a home cross country meet vs. Fort Plain, Canjo, OESJ and BKW. The top finisher for the girls was Amelia Jordan who finished 3rd overall, and Eleanor Douglas came in 6th. The boys defeated BKW by 10 points, with a score of 23 to 33. They also defeated Fort Plain, Canjo, OESJ by 3 points with a score of 26 to 29.

The boys were led by Simon Evans who won the race followed by Cody Schneider who came in 3rd, Brayden Sheft who came in 7th, Kolt Wojtowecz who came in 11th, Jacob Bruchac who came in 12th and Will Anuszewski who finished in 15th place. The boys are now 3 and 1 in WAC League action. Well done Eagles! 

 

The modified boys’ cross team defeated Fort Plain yesterday, but lost to BKW, 24-30. Nate Mele came in 4th overall in the race with Nathaniel McDevitt in 5th. Ailey Nelson finished 3rd for the girls and Mikaela Meilunas achieved her PR for the course and came in 4th for the girls. They both had great kicks at the finish! Great job Eagles! 

 

Congratulations to the varsity volleyball team as they defeated Niskayuna in a non-league match last night in 3 sets by the scores of 25-22, 25-16, 25-21.  The Eagles were led by Amber Kolpakas with 13 kills, 2 aces, and 15 digs and Taylor Garrison with 8 kills and 5 blocks. Kiera Allen added 17 assists, 2 aces, and 4 blocks. Kaylee Colabello had 29 digs and Sophia Dugan had 3 kills and 4 blocks. Bridey Flint had 12 digs. The Eagles host Mekeel tonight for a WAC showdown. Come out to support the team Eagle Nation! 

 

Boys’ modified soccer dominated Mayfield yesterday from kickoff to the final buzzer in their 1-0 victory yesterday. Jordan Grupe scored the only goal of the game off a corner kick by Liam Hickey. Roscoe Fingar blocked his second penalty kick of the season to keep Mayfield off the scoreboard. It was a full team win against Mayfield. Go Eagles!

Today is Tuesday, October 3rd, and it is a B day.

The varsity boys’ soccer team lost yesterday to Schoharie with a score of 1-0. The team dominated the game and played very well but just were not able to score. The Eagles had many opportunities and will be ready for the next game!

 

Congratulations to both the modified volleyball Gold and Blue teams for defeating BKW last night. The Gold team pulled together in a heated 3 set match where the scores were 25-12, 25-23, and then Galway Gold rallied to win the 3rd set 29-27.The Blue team played a dominant 2 set game winning 25-23 and 25-16. Great job Eagles!

Thank you to Student Senate and advisor Mrs. Dowen for an amazing Homecoming Week and Weekend! We all had a great time and appreciate all your hard work for Eagle Nation! It was nice to see over 50% of students and teachers participating in the Spirit Dress-Up Days! 


Speaking of teachers, congratulations to them for winning Spirit Week! As you know, some teachers had a great time silly stringing the Juniors’ class officers at the Pep Rally on Friday! Now teachers are going to vote to decide which class gets the cash prize! We will let you know here on GTV who the lucky winner is! 


The modified boys’ cross country team tied for 4th place out of 9 teams on Saturday at the E.J. Hermann Invy in Utica.  Nate Mele and Nathaniel McDevitt earned ribbons for their 34th and 37th place finishes out of 113 finishers.  Mason Bourdeau and Logan Verity had pace PR's. Mikaela Meilunas ran her pace PR again! Come out and watch the team on Tuesday afternoon in their home meet against BKW, Middleburgh, Canjo-Fort Plain and OESJ! Go Eagles! 

 

The varsity cross country team also ran in Utica where Eleanor Douglas finished first for the girls. Simon Evans finished first for the boys, and the varsity team came in 12th out of 23 teams. The boys’ JV team came in 5th out of 13th teams with 3 in the top 20 finishers: Brody Paterek was 13th, Evan Morris was 17th and Logan Miner was 18th. Well done Eagles! 


Congratulations to the modified girls’ soccer team who beat Hadley-Luzerne with a score of 6-1!  Josie Venditti scored two goals, Josie Price had two goals and one assist, Brielle Cameron had two goals and three assists, Emily Jessop had one assist, and Nadia Labate had an assist. Great job Eagles! 


The boys’ varsity soccer team won the Homecoming game with a score of 6-3 against a tough Johnstown team. The team brought their A game on Saturday in a fast paced and physical match where 6 goals were scored in the first 25 minutes. Marcos Del Rio Fernandez Aller scored a hat trick and Colin Anderson had 2 goals. Chris Maher put in a strong performance scoring 1 goal. Assists came from Chase Maher, Eben Perkins, Francesco Fabbri Medina, and Marcos Del Rio. The Eagles played well as a whole and should be very proud of this victory!

The cross country team hosted the Homecoming fun run for 5th and 6th graders yesterday. In 1st place for 6th grade girls was Gwen Ahnsman with Avery Menge close behind. Abby Knapp came in 3rd place. For 6th grade boys, Theo Friedman came in first with Colten Knickerbocker in second. Gavin Coulter came in 3rd. A special shout out to Mrs. Barr and Mr. Schaperjahn who also participated! Thank you to Mrs. Moffatt, Dr. Donovan, Mr. Miller and Mrs. Reome for your support too!

The Galway boys’ varsity soccer team registered their second shutout in a row with a 4-0 victory over Schoharie yesterday. The first half ended scoreless as Galway battled Schoharie at home on a perfect soccer weather day. Both teams came out charging for control of the midfield. It was a fast paced and physical game. The second half had Galway finding their rhythm early on with Colin Anderson placing a nice shot to the back of the net with the assist from Marcos Del Rio Fernandez Aller. Next came another goal from Colin this time off a well placed throw in from Eli Montague for the assist. The third goal came from Marco Del Rio Fernandez Aller off a cross from Francesco Fabbri Medina. The final goal was scored by Aidan Reekie-Mell with Francesco's second assist of the day. Jack Flint played well with 4 nice saves. Galway's Chris Maher put in a strong performance in controlling the midfield as well as Eben Perkins, Carson Eagan, Ethan Watrobski, and Adam Hay on defense. Great job Eagles!

The Varsity Volleyball team put up a great fight before succumbing in a heartbreaking five-set battle with Saratoga High School last night.   Galway was led by Amber Kolpakas with 15 kills, and 11 digs and Taylor Garrison with 10 kills and 5 blocks.  Kiera Allen added 5 kills, 5 blocks, and 19 assists while Sophia Dugan added 5 blocks and Kaylee Colabello had 34 digs.   The Eagles fall to 3-1 overall.

It’s Spirit Week Eagle Nation! Today, as you all know, is Color Wars Day! 


Tomorrow is Decades Day! Sixth, seventh and eighth graders have the 60s! Freshmen have the 90s! Sophomores have the 70s! Juniors have the 2010s to 2020s! Seniors have the 80s! Teachers have early 2000s/Y2K! 

 

Your class officers are counting how many of you are dressed up each day. The winning grade’s class officers will be silly stringing the losing class officers at the pep rally tomorrow!!!!!! 

 

The winning grade will also win a prize of $75.51, so break out that Eagle pride! 7th graders won Hat Day with a 58% participation rate! The Seniors were so close with a 56% participation rate! Who will win today for Color Wars?!

 

Tomorrow night is the homecoming dance! You can buy tickets this week at lunch for only $8, or at the door for $10. The dance will be from 7:30-9:30 in the high school gym. 

 

Then on Saturday there are modified soccer and volleyball games. The annual parade featuring the class floats, this year with a theme of decades! Congratulations to the modified boys' cross country team who defeated Mayfield and Fonda yesterday. Nate Mele and Nathaniel McDevitt took 3rd and 4th place. Nathaniel McDevitt and Logan Verity improved their pace times on the shorter course. In the girls' race, Mikaela Meilunas had her first second place finish with Ailey Nelson right behind her in third. Mikaela had a pace PR too. 

Last night in WAC League cross country action, Galway was at Mayfield and also ran against Fonda. For the girls, Eleanor Douglas led the way with a 4th place finish. Amelia Jordan finished 7th and Colleen Thorpe came in 10th. For the boys, Simon Evans came in first, Cody Schneider came in 6th, Brayden Sheft and Kolt Wojtowecz came in 10th and 11th. The Galway boys lost to Fonda but defeated Mayfield for the first time in several years. Great job Eagles!

Your class officers are counting how many of you are dressed up each day. The winning grade’s class officers will be silly stringing the losing class officers at the pep rally on Friday!!!!!! 

 

The winning grade will also win a prize of $75.51, so break out that Eagle pride! Teachers are in the lead with an 83% participation rate in Monochromatic Day! Followed by 10th grade with a 72% participation rate! Eagle Nation! Come on! We’ve got to represent! We don’t want the teachers to win it all! 

 

This Friday is the homecoming dance! You can buy tickets this week at lunch for only $8, or at the door for $10. The dance will be from 7:30-9:30 in the high school gym. 

Then on Saturday there are modified soccer and volleyball games. The annual parade featuring the class floats, this year with a theme of decades! Seniors will be recognized at 4:30 at the track, followed by the varsity soccer games. And finally, after the games, there will be amazing fireworks to end a perfect weekend! Today is Monochromatic Day, September 26th, and it is an A day.

Congratulations to the boys’ varsity soccer team who defeated Northville at home yesterday with a score of 3-0. The Eagles had 21 shots on goal and 10 corner kicks. Galway controlled play for the majority of the game, giving Jack Flint his first shutout of the season. Scoring for Galway in the first period was Colin Anderson who followed up on a blazing shot by Chris Maher who is credited with the assist.

With less than a minute to go in the first half, Marcos Del Rio Fernandez Aller found the back of the net by heading a well placed corner kick by Francesco Fabbri Medina for the assist. The final goal was scored in the second half by Francesco Fabbri Medina who lofted the ball over the keeper's head. Galway's defense of Adam Hay, Carson Eagan, Eben Perkins and Ethan Watrobski all had great games. Outside mids Trevor Bombard, Chase Maher, Eli Montague all put in strong performances. Great game Eagles! 

 

The modified volleyball Blue team beat Schoharie last night in 2 sets, winning 25 –21 and 25-18. Congrats on a well-played game!

The girls’ varsity soccer team won 4-0 last Friday against Mekeel. Special shout out to forward Mae Budris for scoring a hat trick! The goals were scored b Anna Spadaro assisted by Mae, Mae assisted by Olivia Davison-Gauss, Mae assisted by Abby Gullett and Mae assisted by Lilly Jessop. Keeper Beena McElhienney had 4 saves. Congratulations Eagles!


The Galway varsity boys won the 50th Galway Cross Country Invitational held here, this past weekend! The team was led by Simon Evans who came in second followed by Cody Schneider who sprinted at the finish for 3rd. Brayden Sheft and Jacob Bruchac finished in the top ten, as Kolt Wojtovecz and Will Anuszewski finished in the top 20.

The varsity girls were led by Eleanor Douglas who finished 7th and Amelia Jordan who came in 11th. The girls did not have a complete team as they need two more runners. The cross country team would like to thank Mr. and Mrs. Prehn, Mr. Decker, Mr. Obern and the cross country families for helping out at the 50th Annual Galway Invy! 


The modified cross country team had impressive finishes. Ailey Nelson sprinted to earn 3rd at the finish and Mikaela Meilunas finished in 14th. The modified boys’ team were complete for the first time this season and took home a second place finish. All 5 boys finished in the top 20 with Nate Mele leading the team in 6th place. The team only lost to Schalmont by 6 points and were 32 points in front of the third place team! Congratulations Eagles! 


The JV volleyball team won the Mayfield Volleyball tournament yesterday! They did not lose a set all day going 10-0! The team had a fantastic day serving with a combined 66 Aces with Grace Dugan having 23 and Gianna Viscariello having 14. Grace Dugan also added 36 assists on the day, and Maggie Newsom added 14 assists. Teigen Brennan led the team with 15 kills and Sadie Stead led the team with 22 digs. Great job Eagles!

The modified boys’ soccer team lost a tough game to a very disciplined Schoharie team yesterday. They played tough, hard soccer and we should all be proud of their effort, never giving up. On to the next one Eagle Nation! 

 

JV Volleyball defeated Middleburgh in two sets last night. The team combined for 16 aces. The team was led by Maggie Newsom with 4 kills, Sadie Stead with 10 digs, and Grace Dugan with 8 assists. Great job Eagles! 

 

Congratulations to the varsity volleyball team as they defeated Middleburgh in their WAC Match last night with a 3-0 sweep by the scores of 25-8, 25-15, and 25-11.  The Golden Eagles were led by Amber Kolpakas with 11 kills and Kiera Allen with 12 kills and 10 assists. Courtney Smith added 4 blocks and 5 kills, while Ava Remscheid had 3 blocks and 2 kills. Bridey Flint and Haleigh Hansen each had 11 assists and Kaylee Colabello and Madison Hoyt combined for 27 digs.  Come out Wednesday night as they host Saratoga High at 6 p.m.

 

Tomorrow the Galway cross country team will hold the 50th Invy behind the high school at 9am! Stop by and cheer on our Eagles!

The boys modified soccer team lost a heartbreaker to Mayfield yesterday 4 to 3, with goals by Jameson Wagner, Ian Horton, and Grady Smith. The whole team played tough and had chances to tie it up late in the game, but came up short, but in the end they could not overcome the odds of playing the entire game 11 vs. 9. You’ll get them next time Eagles!

September 19 

Today is Tuesday, September 19th, and it is a B day. 

Today’s lunch is mac and cheese.

 

Congratulations to the varsity boys’ soccer team who defeated OESJ with a score of 8-1 yesterday! Marcos Del Rio Fernandez Aller led the way with 4 goals and 1 assist. Francesco Fabbri Medina tallied 4 assists in the effort. Also scoring for the Eagles were Chris Maher, Eben Perkins, Colin Anderson and Tyler Friedman. Other assists came from Eben Perkins and Aidan Reekie-Mell.

Galway came out charging by scoring a goal within the first couple of minutes of play and finished the first half with 4 goals. The second half continued with 4 additional Eagle scores and with less than 2 minutes left. Chris Maher and Francesco Fabbri Medina were key in dominating the midfield. Jack Flint made a few nice saves, turning back some good OESJ opportunities. Strong performances were turned in by the Galway defense of Adam Hay, Eben Perkins, Carson Eagan, and Ethan Watrobski. Well done Eagles! 

 

Congratulations to both the girls modified Gold and Blue volleyball teams for defeating Fort Plain in 2 out of 3 sets. Scores for the Gold team were 25-19, 25-11, and 25-16. Scores for the Blue team were 25-20, 25-14, and 25-11.Way to work together and pull through some tough sets!

The girls’ varsity soccer team won 2-0 against BKW last Friday. Special shout out to defender Heather Ehrenberg who saved the Eagles from a goal when keeper Beena McElhienney was down. Beena had 8 saves, giving the Eagles a shutout. Goals came from Kendra Peterson who was assisted by Taylor Germain and Mae Budris also assisted by Taylor Germain. Congratulations Eagles!

They modified cross country team had an impressive showing in the first invy of the season in Fort Plain on Saturday. Ailey Nelson came in 13th place and Mikaela Meilunas came in 17th place. Nate Mele took 6th place and also improved his time from last year by a minute. Tyler Bombard took 20th place and improved his time by 3 minutes! Mason Bourdeau took 22nd place. The team has a home invitational this Saturday here at school. Come out and cheer them on! 

 

Congratulate Simon Evans for coming in first on his birthday in the small school division at the Fort Plain Invy on Saturday! He led the varsity team to a 4th place finish. Cody Schneider also finished in the top 10. Eleanor Douglas led the Galway girls with a top 20 finish. The JV boys’ team finished 3rd and was led by Logan Minier and Evan Morris who both finished in the top 25.

 

The varsity volleyball team won the Annual Folds of Honor tournament this past weekend. They went 6-0 in pool play and then defeated Spa Catholic in the semis 25-8 and 25-9. The Eagles then defeated Schuylerville in the finals 25-17 and 25-20 to finish off a perfect 10-0 day. Galway was led by Amber Kolpakas with 42 kills, 12 aces, 4 blocks and 30 digs. Taylor Garrison had 24 kills, 7 aces,  6 blocks and 21 digs.  Kiera Allen had 14 kills, 3 blocks, and 65 assists, while Kaylee Calobello had 56 digs. Madison Hoyt had 37 digs and Courtney Smith had 10 kills. Congratulations Eagles! 

 

Congratulations to the modified girls’ soccer team who beat Middleburgh with a score of 10-0!  Brielle Cameron, Josie Venditti and Nadia LaBate all scored goals. Assists came from Brielle Cameron, Ava Larson, Kaylee Jessop, Emily Jessop, Josie Price, Josie Venditti, and Nadia LaBate. Great job Eagles! 

 

Congratulations to the modified boys’ soccer team who also beat Middleburgh with a score of 2 to 0 on Saturday. Ian Horton was a strong presence in goal. A strong defense for the team led by  Logan MacIsaac and Patrick Stallmer kept from having a shot on goal. Jamison Wagner scored both goals for the team, leading to the win. Their next home game is Thursday at 4:15. Good luck Eagles!

The Maher brothers brought it to Mekeel with Chris and Chase scoring goals in a hard fought 3-1 victory. Also scoring was Francesco Fabbri Medina. Colin Anderson had two assists with Marco Del Rio Fernandez Aller getting an assist. Jack Flint put in a solid performance in the goal with 5 saves. Strong play is credited to Chris Maher and Francesco doing a great job controlling the midfield, with Eli Montague, Trevor Bombard, and Tyler Friedman controlling the outsides. Great job Eagles! 

 

The JV volleyball defeated Canjo-Fort Plain yesterday in two straight sets. The team was led by Jessie Newsom with 6 kills, Maggie Newsom with 7 assists, and Gianna Viscariello with 6 digs. The team also combined for 12 aces. Well done Eagles! 

 

The varsity volleyball team defeated Canjo-Fort Plain in their WAC League game last night with a 3-0 sweep. The Golden Eagles won with scores of 25-11, 25-10, 25-16.  The Eagles were led by Amber Kolpakas with 16 kills, and Taylor Garrison with 10 kills. Kiera Allen and Courtney Smith each had 6 kills while Haleigh Hansen dished out 19 assists. Galway moves to 2-0 in the league and 2-0 overall. Congratulations Eagles!

The girls’ varsity soccer team won 3-1 yesterday against Schoharie, the first time they have beat Schoharie in a decade!!  Special shout out to keeper Beena McElhienney for her insane goalie skills! Her 20 saves were crucial to the Eagles’ win. The goals include Anna Spadaro assisted by Abby Gullett, Anna Spadaro assisted by McKenna Kanaby and Abby Gullett assisted by Olivia Davison-Gauss. Congratulations Eagles!

 

Congratulations to the Modified Volleyball BLUE team for defeating Schoharie last night. They won the first set 25-20, they lost the second set 25-9, and then the Eagles took the deciding set, winning 25-17! Great job Eagles!

 

Galway's Marcos Del Rio Fernandez Aller scored 4 goals and Colin Anderson scored 2 as Galway defeated Canjo-Fort Plain yesterday with a score of 6-1.The first half started with Galway scoring a goal within the 2 minute mark. The Eagles controlled the flow of the game and scored 5 of their 6 goals during the first half. Keeper Jack Flint made a number of key saves including a diving save off a well struck direct kick just above the 18. Peregrine Perkins played keeper for Galway the final 15 minutes of the game and also made some scrappy saves in traffic right in front of the goal. Eagle assists were provided by Ethan Watrobski, Chris Maher, and Trevor Bombard. Chris Maher and Francesco Fabbri Medina both played excellent games controlling the midfield. Congratulations Eagles!

Congratulations to the varsity volleyball team as they defeated Duanesburg in their WAC League opener last night tonight with a 3-0 sweep. The Golden Eagles needed a comeback in the third set to finish off the match. The Eagles were led by Amber Kolpakas with 13 kills and 5 aces. Taylor Garrison had 10 kills, while Kiera Allen had 6 kills, 3 blocks, and dished out 21 assists. Courtney Smith added 4 kills, 1 block and 8 assists, and Ava Remchied added 3 blocks.  Kaylee Colabello and Maddie Hoyt combined for 35 digs. Galway moves to 1-0 in the league and 1-0 overall.


The girls' varsity soccer team won 4-0 yesterday against Johnstown. Special shout out to senior Abi Gullett who had her first ever goal assisted by Mae Budris. Other goals include Taylor Germain assisted by Olivia Davison-Gauss, Eva Anderson’s goal was assisted by Mae Budris, and Mae Budris was assisted by Taylor Germain. The defense and midfield made sure only a few balls went through to keeper Beena McElhienney, who had 2 saves. The team's amazing performance allowed Beena to play on field and allowed for Taylor Germain to go in goal and have 2 saves. Congratulations Eagles!

 

The JV volleyball team beat Duanesburg last night 2 sets to 1. After dropping the first set 21-25, they came back to win the second set 25-22 and the third set 25-16. Great job Eagles! 

 

Congratulations to the boys’ modified soccer team who beat McKeel Christian yesterday with a score of 1-0. Ian Morton and Roscoe Finger combined for a 13 save shutout. Patrick Stallmar and Sean Phillips played tough on defense. While Jameson Wagner scored the only goal of the game with just under four minutes left on the clock. Good luck at your next game Saturday at Middleburg!

Congratulations to the Modified Volleyball BLUE team for defeating Canjo last night in their opening game of the season. They won the first set 25-20, the 2nd set they lost 25-22, but then the Eagles took the deciding set, winning 25-16! Great job to both the BLUE and the GOLD teams for hard-played games!

 

The varsity boys soccer team lost last night to a well disciplined BKW-D team with a score of 5-2. Marcos Del Rio Fernandez Aller and Noah Montague scored for the Eagles. Noah came off the bench to score a great long shot finding the upper outside corner of the goal. The team will reset and be ready for their next game against Canjo- Ft Plain tomorrow.

Congratulations to Shamus Evans who won the Y-Knot sailing regatta on Lake George on Sunday!  Shamus competed against experienced sailors, and in four races racked up one third place, one second place, and two FIRST place finishes to claim the overall title.  He is the youngest sailor to ever win the event!  Congratulations, Shamus!

 

Congratulations to the varsity boys’ soccer team in their win over Mayfield with a score of 3 - 1! Colin Anderson scored 2 goals, and Chris Maher scored 1. Colin had 2 assists, and Marcos Del Rio Fernandez Aller had 1. Eagles Marcos, Fran Fabbri Medina, Colin, Eli Montague, and Chris put in a strong performance up front, while the defense was supported with strong performances by Ethan Watrobski, Carson Eagan, and Adam Hay. Keeper Jackson Flint made 6 saves, some of them key to the win. Well done Eagles!

The varsity boys’ soccer team outplayed Middleburg the whole game but unfortunately due to 2 penalty shots awarded Middleburg, Galway lost 3-2.Galway led the majority of the game with a penalty scored by Marcos Del Rio Fernandez Aller and an amazing shot by Francesco Fabbri Medina. Marcos, Fran, Chris Maher, and Colin Anderson played extremely well up front. Ethan Watrobski and Carson Eagan had great games on defense. Jack Flint had a number of very good saves in the goal, keeping Galway in the game.
