Galway's On-Time College Completion Rates
Posted on 10/22/2019
How well is Galway preparing students for success in college? Very well, according to researchers at education advocacy organization Ed Trust - New York.
The Albany Times Union article states: "There were some surprises among smaller rural schools that serve a notable portion of low-income students but saw greater rates of on-time and eventual completion rates among TAP-recipients than most districts in the region."
"Two standouts topped the list for on-time completion: Duanesburg schools, where 19 percent of students qualify for free and reduced lunch, and Galway Central School district, where 30 percent were low-income. Each saw 51 percent of TAP recipient students completing college within four years, surpassing all other districts in the region."
Ed Trust-NY Executive Director Ian Rosenblum said: “We believe in a simple premise: the best measure of college readiness is whether students ultimately succeed in college."
