Ms Flugrad:
Ms Flugrad has been a 4th grade teacher at Woodrow Wilson School since 2008. She has also worked for JFS as the lead teacher for the All Stars 3rd grade after school program for many years. Ms Flugrad grew up in Connecticut and moved to Massachusetts to attend Wheelock College in Boston where she studied literature, Elementary Education, and Special Education. During college Ms Flugrad spent a semester abroad in Cannes, France where she took classes in French and developed a love of traveling. Ms Flugrad and her husband have been on many adventures together around the world. She has visited countries in North America, South America (Brazil!), Europe, Africa, Asia, and Oceania. Ms Flugrad brings her enthusiasm for learning and teaching about different cultures into the classroom and she is proud to be a teacher at our International Baccalaureate (IB) World School! Every year since she began teaching at Woodrow Wilson School, Ms Flugrad’s class has written to pen pals volunteering in the Peace Corps, which is a memorable way to learn about life in another country and about helping others. Besides her love of teaching and traveling, Ms. Flugrad also enjoys spending time with family, friends, and her cat Nala. Her hobbies include reading, yoga, dancing, silly board games, scrapbooking, and going on walks at Cushing Park with her husband (often saying hello to many Woodrow Wilson students there!).
