On June 10, fourth and fifth grade students at Edward J. Bosti Elementary School attended a special assembly on the Holocaust. Educator Dr. Bernie Furshpan, a board member of the Holocaust Memorial and Tolerance Center in Glen Cove, spoke to students, even speaking about his personal connection to the Holocaust. He told the harrowing story of his father, the only survivor of his family of eight, and how he managed to live through the Holocaust from age 10 to build a life and family in Israel and in the U.S.
