What Can the Business Academy do for you?

As a member of the academy, students exhibit a commitment to the business field. Students will demonstrate proficiency through a rigorous course load and passing scores on the NOCTI exam. Academy members who meet all the requirements will earn a CTE designation on their diploma when they graduate high school.

To apply for the Connetquot Business Academy, interested students must complete this application.

To graduate from the Connetquot Business Academy, students must

  • Earn a minimum of 4.5 total business credits, including required courses.
  • Complete work-based learning requirements.
  • Pass the required CTE exam during the spring of their senior year while taking Virtual Enterprise.

Personal Financial Literacy 1
Microsoft Office 1
Virtual Enterprise + culminating NOCTI Exam 2
A minimum of 54 hours of work-based learning.
  • Can be achieved through Ms. Rapone’s School to Work Program (0.5-2 credits)
  • Students and their advisor can track their hours, which include job shadowing, community service, volunteering, service learning, and on-site projects (0 credits).
  • Students will also reach the minimum required WBL hours if they complete Virtual Enterprise.

Additional Requirements

  • Students must be accepted into and maintain membership in National Business Honor Society.
  • Students must enroll in and complete at least one business course per year while maintaining a GPA of 90 or higher in business courses.
  • Students must attend Business Academy meetings throughout the school year.
