Principal's Message

Welcome to the Mickey Cox Elementary School website, home of the Cowboys!  We hope that you will find this website useful and informative while providing a convenient reference for basic and essential information concerning the operation of the school.

I am overjoyed to be returning to Mickey Cox and stepping into the role of principal at a school that holds such a special place in my heart. Having begun my administrative career here as a Resource Teacher and GIS, I feel as though I have come full circle. It is an honor to work alongside a staff and community that take such pride in creating a positive and supportive environment, fostering both academic success and personal growth.

Since opening in 1980, Mickey Cox has proudly upheld a tradition of excellence. We are honored to have been named a California State Distinguished School three times, a testament to the dedication and hard work of our amazing teachers, staff, students, and parents.

Our motto, “Work hard, play fair, and take care of each other,” truly reflects the spirit of our community. We are committed to providing students with a strong academic program and outstanding co-curricular activities, all designed to promote our Sparthenian concept. Our staff works diligently to help our students meet and surpass district and state standards.

As we embark on this new journey together, know that I am dedicated to upholding the traditions and high standards of excellence that Mickey Cox is known for. I am filled with anticipation for the new school year and the opportunities it holds. Let’s make this school year a great one!

Should the need arise, please do not hesitate to contact your child’s teacher or the school office with any questions or concerns. Email links have been provided for each staff member for your convenience.
