I.V. Therapy

IV demostration
  • This course meets the Florida Board of Nursing's 30-hour education requirement to perform IV Therapy.  This course provides students with the knowledge and understanding of aspects of IV Therapy including:
     
    • Fluid and Electrolyte Balance
    • Medical Terminology related to IV Therapy
    • Anatomy of the venous system
    • Venipuncture
    • IV Therapy delivery
    • Types of equipment
    • Care of the patient receiving IV Therapy
    • Special Considerations of IV Therapy
    This course includes both online and on-site requirements.  You must be a Licensed Practical Nurse to register for this course.

    Industry Certifications

    This is a continuing education course for licensed practical nurses.  Students must have passed the NCLEX licensure examination and have an active license in the state of Florida to earn this certification.  
     
    This course is often required for employment as an LPN.

    Register for this program at Charlotte Technical College, Monday through Friday between 7:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m.
