Harold Hugo Beach was born August 1.3, 1911 in Caldwell County to Victor Hugo Beach and Hattie Beach. He graduated from Kings Creek High School in 1931, where he participated in track and field and played basketball.
Beach was a devoted employee of Blue Ridge Electric for 37 years and was active in many community endeavors. He was one of the pioneer organizers of Lenoir Little League Baseball in 1952. He served as the Lenoir Little League Secretary-Treasurer for more than 35 years. He also served as North Carolina League District 2 Treasurer from 1967 to 1980. With the growth of Little League in Caldwell County and surrounding counties, his efforts were instrumental in establishing the North Carolina District 7 Little League in 1980. He served as North Carolina District 7 treasurer until his death in 1991. A Lenoir Little League Field was named "The Harold Beach Field" in his honor on May 23, 2002.
For 35 years, he was a faithful member of the Lenoir Kiwanis Club, serving as Secretary-Treasurer and as the time keeper for Golden Gloves Boxing, sponsored by the club.After joining First Baptist Church of Lenoir in 1949, he became a lifetime Deacon. He was married to Lucy Clark Beach and they had five children, six grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.

Ernestine Horton Paschall Shade was born June 7, 1928 in Lenoir, North Carolina to Thomas and Inez Patterson Horton. She graduated from Freedman High School in 1944 and in 1948, from Bennett College in Greensboro, North Carolina where she met her future husband, A&T student James Paschall. She taught at three different elementary schools across North Carolina before moving to Los Angeles, California.
She received her MA degree in Education from the University of Southern California in 1956 and then taught at nearby Ascot Elementary School. In 1971she became an administrative coordinator with the newly created Child Development Division of the Los Angeles Unified School District. She was instrumental in expanding the program, and through her hard work and leadership, helped establish many additional child development centers.
She was a representative to United Way and actively participated in the NAACP and Urban League organizations. She is a member of Phi Delta Kappa and Delta Sigma Theta sororities. She served as president of the California Bennett College Alumnae Chapter where she was a charter member and their representative to the United Negro College fund. She worked with recruitment and admissions on a national level and organized an alumnae chapter in western North Carolina. Her dedication to the college earned her the title Bennett Legacy.
After retirement in 1991, she continued as a consultant with the school system in a teacher development/evaluation capacity. She returned to Lenoir in 2002 to marry her high school sweetheart, Ernest Shade, who died in 2014. She is especially proud of her daughter, Pamela Paschall, and her granddaughter, Christina Paschall Rankin. Because her faith is important to her, she has been active at Crenshaw United Methodist Church in Los Angeles and New Covenant UMC in Lenoir.

Dr. Scott D. Beane was born August 21, 1962, at Caldwell Memorial Hospital to Ronald and Christine Beane. He attended Baton Elementary School and after lettering four years in wrestling at South Caidwell graduated in 1980 and in 1984, from North Carolina State University, where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Zoology. At NC State, he was a member of Alpha Epsilon Delta, a national health honor society, and served as the Chapter Officer Censor of Alpha Zeta, an honorary professional fraternity. In 1989, he received his Doctor of Medicine degree at Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University and completed a three-year Residency in Pediatrics at Greenville Health System in Greenville, South Carolina.
As a Board-Certified Pediatrician and a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics, he began working as a partner at Easley Pediatrics in 1992 and later served as their Medical Director. For years, he instructed both neonatal resuscitation and pediatric advanced life support, educating nurses and physicians at Baptist Medical Center in Easley, South Carolina. In 1996, Dr. Beane was selected the Department of Health and Environmental Control Physician of the Year by the Appalachia II Health District and awarded the GHS Larry M. Greer Stellar Service Award by the Greenville Health System. His practice continues to thrive today in Easley, South Carolina.
Some of the medical experiences Dr. Beane has valued over the years include working on the Navaho Indian Reservation in Winslow, Arizona, and the Crow Indian Reservation, in Crow Agency, Montana. In 2003, he traveled as part of a volunteer multi-team medical group to the Dominican Republic and helped to procure medical supplies for aid. He also provided further medical instruction by leading the first-ever class in neonatal resuscitation (NRP) to the staff at Hospital Regional Universitario in Barahona, Dominican Republic.
Dr. Beane is an active member of Easley Presbyterian Church in Easley, SC, serving as Deacon, Elder, Finance Committee Chair, member of the Christian Education Committee and, from 2010 to present, as the Chair for the Preschool Committee. His dedication to the Easley community and his love for children prompted him to be a founding board member of the Pickens County Council for the Prevention of Child Abuse. He has been instrumental in organizing and building two community playgrounds for the children of Easley. He has supported and volunteered for many charities such as the March of Dimes, Children's Miracle Network, Habitat for Humanity, Pennies for Preemies, and Country Santa for Pickens County.
He has been married to Dr. Cresada Buchanan-Beane since 1988, and they have two daughters, Peyton and Keegan. Peyton will earn her Masters in Special Education from Appalachian State University in 2019. Keegan will earn her Bachelor of Science in Anthropology from Clemson University in 2021. In his spare time, he enjoys fly-fishing, hunting, hiking, going to Walt Disney World, and spending time with his family.

Larry Wilson Taylor was born July 3, 1946 in Caldwell County to Mabel Laney Taylor and C.B. "Jack" Taylor. He graduated from Lenoir High School in 1964, where he was an accomplished athlete, playing football and basketball for four years, running track, and earning recognition as an all-conference baseball player. The following year, he lettered in football, track and golf, and was inducted into the Beta club at Hargrave Military Academy.
He received his BA degree in Business Administration from Catawba College in 1969. While there, he lettered in football, track and golf and was awarded the Golden Helmet. He began working in construction during summer vacations and permanently after graduation, which led to his successful ownership of L.W. Taylor Development & Construction Company, Inc.
For 26 years he served as the men's golf coach at Hibriten High School and two years as the women's golf coach, accumulating 1,800 winning matches or 75% wins. He was named Conference Coach of the Year numerous times and was honored with the State Sportsmanship Award. In 2009 he was inducted into the Hibriten High School Sports Hall of fame and in 2018, into the Caldwell County Sports Hall of fame.
Beyond his athletic accomplishments, he dedicated years of service to his community. from 1991 to 1998, he served as a Caldwell County Commissioner, chaired the Industrial facilities and Pollution Control Board and the Caldwell Shelter Home. He also served as Vice Chairman of the Caldwell Economic Development Board. Presently, he is a trustee of the Caldwell Community College & Technical Institute Board of Directors and former chairman. He also served as a member of the State Community College Board of Trustees.
Larry Taylor is the recipient of the Herman Anderson Economic Development Commission Award, Golden Apple Education Award, Patrick Henry Award, and the LA Dysart Man of the Year Award. He is a Lifetime Eagle Scout, father of Neil and Mackenzie, grandfather to Peyton, Emmitt, and Laney and married to retired educator Penny Wagner Taylor.
