This is a busy time of year for our district and several exciting events are coming up this month:

• The district will name its 2023 Teacher of the Year at a Celebration of Excellence on April 20^th. To view the videos of our six finalists, please visit our district’s YouTube page.
• The Cabarrus County Special Olympics will host their annual Spring Games on April 19^th and 20^th at the Cabarrus Arena and Events Center.
• I will begin hosting our Spring 2023 Community Engagement meetings on Tuesday, April 18th at Central Cabarrus High, Tuesday, April 25th at Concord High, and on Thursday, April 27th at Cox Mill High . These meetings will continue into May as I visit all eight of our traditional district high schools. View the complete schedule here.  All meetings will begin at 6:00 P.M. in the high school media center.  Join me as I present our district’s strategic plan, Destination 2025, and share our strategic priorities for the coming years.

Kindergarten registration is under way. Registering your child during our spring registration helps create a smooth transition into kindergarten in the fall. Any child who is five years old on or before August 31, 2023, is eligible to register for kindergarten. Visit our district website at www.cabarrus.k12.nc.us and select the Enrollment icon in the Find it Fast section for more information. Additionally, applications for Kindergarten Program Choice will be accepted through April 30th. You can find information about Kindergarten Program Choice by selecting the Program Choice icon in the Find it Fast section of our district website.

Finally, congratulations are in order for the Class of 2023.
