Mrs. Kate Highsmith

Hello Wildcats! I am excited to once again be teaching Global Inquiry and Design at Weddington Hills ElementaryI am a Cabarrus County graduate, and I've taught in Cabarrus County schools for 14 years.  I love painting, reading, and being outdoors with my family.

Our class will be focusing on researching, problem-solving, and helping: others, animals, and the planet.  We will exploring a variety of  topics such as compost, recycling, the effects of plastic on marine life, how to help endangered NC sea turtles, food shortages, the migration of monarch butterflies, and why coral reefs are bleaching around the world.  We will be learning about deforestation and raising awareness for what we can do to help.

I am looking forward to exploring, learning, and creating with you.

Remember: (I say) You have a voice; you have a choice.  (You say) I can make an impact.
