BHS-Israeli Exchange Program
-
Brighton High School has been participating in the BHS-Israeli Exchange since 2011. The program provides an opportunity for Israeli high school students from the city of Modi'in Israel and Brighton High School students to meet, interact, and making lasting friendships. Brighton is the only public school in the area to offer a program of this kind. Yet just another reason why Brighton is such a remarkable school district to be a part of.
Although the program is supported jointly by both the Brighton School District and the Jewish Federation of Rochester, the purpose of the program is intended to be a strictly cultural and not a religious exchange. The goal is to promote cultural awareness, understanding and friendship between our two countries. As such, any BHS student can participate.
Once again we are offering the opportunity to all BHS students to participate as either a host family and/or as part of a BHS chaperoned student exchange to Israel. In addition, BHS students that travel to Israel may be eligible for an independent study credit and to participate in programs of interest related to their future college and career interests.
This year's dates for the exchange and the applications to apply for either one or both of these experiences are found below.
