Students can also choose to apply for scholarships to help offset post-secondary educational costs. The scholarship search process isn't easy and can be time-consuming, but it can be worth the effort!! Below is some information to help, as well as links to local scholarships and scholarship search websites.
- Check for scholarships at your place of employment, unions, banks/credit unions, professional/club/membership affiliations, places of worship, Greek life affiliations, dentist office etc. You never know what's available until you ask!
- The biggest scholarships will come directly from the colleges or universities themselves.
- Some colleges consider students for school-based scholarships automatically through the college application; other colleges have additional scholarship applications. Always check the financial aid website for each prospective college to determine their scholarship process and deadlines.
- Keep in mind that some colleges set earlier application deadlines for students who want to be considered for school-based scholarships
