Cycle Number & Word Of The Week
Cycle 24- Striking: to aim and deliver a blow or direct contact to a ball or object.
Cycle 23- Rhythmic Movements: Moving to a rhythm or beat of a song; Dancing
Cycle 22- Apparatus (Gymnastics):Specialized equipment; sports equipment used in gymnastic exercises.
Cycle 21- Flexibility: is the degree to which an individual muscle will lengthen. (Stretching improves flexibility.)
Cycle 20- Routine: a standard or regular way of doing something; a part of an act or sports performance that is carefully worked out so it can be repeated often. Example is a dance routine or a gymnastic routine
Cycle 19- Fitness: to be FIT or to be healthy. Physical fitness is considered a measure of the body's ability to function efficiently and effectively in activities.
Cycle 18- Strength: to be strong. Muscle strength is the amount of force a muscle or muscle group can exert against a heavy resistance.
Cycle 17- Aerobic Endurance: the ability to be active (running, jogging, jumping) with the use of oxygen for a long period of time.
Cycle 16- Agility: the ability to move with quickly and easily.
Cycle 15- Parachute: a folding umbrella-shaped device of light fabric used especially for making a safe jump from an aircraft.
Cycle 14- Inflation: the act of swelling or filling with air or gas.
Cycle 13- Nutrition: the act or process of nourishing our body; taking in and make use of food stubstances. Eating a healthy balanced meal.
Cycle 12- Tracking- following an object
Cycle 11- Strategy- a careful plan or method : the art of making plans or tricks to achieve a goal
Cycle 10- Underhand- made with the hand brought forward with an underhand motion
Rolling- to move or cause to move by turning over and over on a surface without sliding
Cycle 9- Overhand-made with the hand brought forward and down from above shoulder level
Manipulation- using objects to play or perform.
* Manipulative skills are motor skills involving an object. For small muscles, this might mean a pencil or button. For large muscles, manipulative skills are those requiring equipment such as bats, balls, racquets, or jump ropes.
Cycle 8- Coordination- two or more things working together to acheive a goal. (ex- Hand-Eye Coordination to hit a target)
Cycle 7- Accuracy - the freedom from error; able to kick directly to your target.
Cycle 6- Obstacle Course- a series of obstacles in an activity that must be overcome
Cycle 5- Etiquette: the rules of conduct or the proper and polite way to behave
Cycle 4- Cardiovascular Endurance:the ability to sustain a prolonged activity involving the heart and blood vessels
Cycle 3- Counter Clockwise: in a direction opposite to that in which the hands of a clock rotate as viewed from in front (Rotates to the left)
Cycle 2- Clockwise: in the direction in which the hands of a clock rotate as view from in front (Rotates to the right)
