West Hills WATCH D.O.G.S. PROGRAM
WATCH D.O.G.S.® is the father involvement initiative of the National Center for Fathering that organizes fathers and father figures in order to provide positive male role models for students.
Program Goal
To help every school in America be positively influenced by the committed involvement of fathers and father figures in lives of their children and students.
How WATCH D.O.G.S.Works
WATCH D.O.G.S. invites fathers, grandfathers, uncles, or other father figures to volunteer at least one day all day at their childs/student's school during the school year. Individuals sign up at any time throughout the school year. The program is overseen by a Top Dog volunteer who partners with the school administrator to coordinate scheduling and identify opportunities for WatchDOGS to provide assistance at the school.
Here is a comment from Fred, our most recent WatchDOG.
Thanks Fred and welcome to the Family!
Hi Andrew, Thanks again for letting me be a Watchdog. I hope I don't go back to work right away as that was quite fun. I am scheduled to help out Crownhill on Tuesdays so I probably will just sign up for the following Thursday or Friday. Please let me know which one needs a Watch dog and if they're both open please sign me up for Friday.... All of you folks really impressed me today with your commitment to our Children. You guys "Rock"!
