The Biloxi School District is pleased to
announce a 5-year partnership with the Department of Defense Education
Activity (DoDEA) in the form of a $1,000,000 grant. This grant will
allow the Biloxi School District to enhance its STEM (Science,
Technology, Mathematics) programs within the district and to provide
more transitional support for our military connected students and
families.
This partnership is named Project IMPACT
(Improving Mathematical Practices and Access to Counseling and
Technology) and the specific goals include:
--Professional development for all K-12 staff to
--Implementation of programs to increase student awareness of STEM programs and careers
--Increase levels of social and emotional support of our military students and familes
While
this grant is specific to military students and their needs, all
students at the target schools will benefit from these programs. The
target schools include: Jeff Davis Elementary, Popp's Ferry Elementary,
North Bay Elementary, Biloxi Junior High
