PUBLIC RELEASE SCHOOL YEAR 2023-2024 Community Eligibility Provision
Amboy Community Unit School District #272 is pleased to announce the district will participate in the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) for the 2023-2024 school year. The CEP, which is part of the federally funded National School Lunch Program and School Breakfast Program, provides nutritious meals at NO COST to all students enrolled at Central Elementary School, Amboy Junior High School, and Amboy High School. Students will be able to participate in this free meal program without having to pay a fee or submit a household application. Studies have shown that children who are not hungry perform better in school. By providing school meals to all children at no charge, we are hoping to create a better learning environment for our students. As always, the school breakfasts and lunches served follow all U.S. Department of Agriculture guidelines for healthy school meals. The Free Breakfast and Lunch Program cannot succeed without your support. Please encourage your children to participate in the school meal programs. All student ala carte purchases and extra milks will still be sold at full cost. All adults, visitors, teachers, support staff members, and administrators of the district must still pay the full cost of their meals. For more information, you may call Amy Wittenauer, Cafeteria Supervisor, at 815-857-2164 ext. 2 or email at awittenauer@amboy.net.
