• Hello and welcome to class! This page is your one stop shop to all important information!

    Supplies:

As a reminder, for this class students will need a pocket folder or binder, pencils, pens, and colored pencils. Though the majority of our assignments will be on GoogleClassroom, there will be printed handouts that I ask them to mark up and keep track of. I am alright if the binder is a shared binder for their other classes to keep their backpacks on the lighter side.

    Grades and Assignments:

The lesson plan for this class will be posted about a week in advance, with exception to the first week where I will be evaluating the pace of the class. Lesson plans can be found here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1PWbA5_uKY-SaolKj7Qnibuo3klVbv08aFO619YBDjaQ/edit?usp=sharing Grades will be posted within 2-3 days of the assignment completion date. Please note that students who turn work in late will not be graded as quickly. I will grade them as soon as I am able.

Students will have weekly homework assignments where they will use their chromebooks at home to work on grammar or workbook pages through their Kami extension (explained below). This will be due on Monday mornings and reviewed as our bellwork for the day. Other than this, the only other assignment they will be given for homework is whatever is not finished in class. There will also be a quarterly reading project, but this reading can be done at any point.

    Websites:

    - my.hrw.com: is the site for our online textbook. I will be signing students into this during the first week, but if they forgot their username or information please email me.

    - MobyMax: very similar to i-Ready used in the past. Students will use this to work on their ELA standards using smaller texts.

    - Kami: is a web extension that allows students to write on pdf files like word documents. This should already be activated on the student's chromebook

    - GoogleClassroom: as stated above this is where the majority of their assignments will be completed. This is where all of our assignments will be posted and how they turn them in. There is also a summary that can be emailed to the student's parent or guardian at the end of every week, or daily. If you would like to have access to that, please email me or send me a Remind message with your name and the email address that you would like this going to. There is a link below this message that show the "Google Folder" for assignments posted to our classroom.
