In 2021-22, the NYS Legislature leveraged Federal aid to provide additional aid to school districts for the purposes of starting full-day, four-year-old universal prekindergarten (UPK) programs across the State. Waterford-Halfmoon was allocated $136,320 of aid for this purpose. The District intends to take advantage of this infusion of aid to start one UPK classroom in the 2021-22 fiscal year. Additionally, the District foresees receiving State aid in future years based on program enrollment and therefore anticipates the continuation of this program into the future.
