    There are 2 types of scholarships: Institution Scholarships/Grants and Private/3rd Party Scholarships

    Please check in the Counseling Center for scholarship information.

    Some schools require that you submit an additional application for scholarships. Other schools qualify you after you have completed the FAFSA form. Check with the school to see what is required.

    Private scholarships are most accessible on our Warsaw Central School Counseling Center website.  You can complete certain applications online or print out others to hand in. Public and University Scholarships are offered at almost all schools. Check the website for the school your student is planing to attend to see what they offer.

    NY Farm Bureau - Offers Scholarship to Students Studying Agriculture and plan on continuing studies in this field to apply for one of the three scholarships sponsored by the Promotion and Education Committee. Applications 1-800-342-4143 ext 4143 or stop by the 4-H Office.

    The Hagan Scholarship - A nationwide need-based merit scholarship. Eligible public high school students from a county having fewer than 50,000 residents. The application deadline is 5:00 pm CST on December 1, 2021. Go to scholarships@hsfmo.org to apply.

    Empire State Potato Growers, Inc - Criteria: Undergraduate students, residing in NYS, pursuing college studies in NYS benefiting the agricultural industry. $500 per academic year up to 4 years. studying Ag Engineering, Agronomy, Crop&Soil Sciences, Entomology, Good Sciences, Horticulture, Plant Pathology, Ag Economics, Academic achievement, leadership abilities and NYS residency.     Warsaw Support Staff Association Award - Student must be the son or daughter or under the legal guardianship of a WSSA member. Must be a graduating senior of the current school year. WSSA member must complete the eligibility form and submit to the WSSA Treasurer by January 30th of the current academic school year.

    Mark E. Strome Scholarship -  Any senior planning to attend an accredited four-year college or university who has the heart, ambition, and initiative to succeed in life. Applications will be available in January in the Counseling Center.

    Steve L Baker Memorial Scholarship - This scholarship is set up to honor a beloved coach and teacher, who touched many in our community. Mr. Baker was always kind, thoughtful and caring with an enthusiasm for life that was immeasurable. The committee is looking for applicants who demonstrate the same characteristics, community involvement, and who strive to always be kind and caring.

    Maghon E. Barkley Scholarship - Graduating senior entering into Education specializing in Special Education. General education will be considered. Must write an essay explaining why this field has been chosen. GPA must be at least 2.5. Financial need may be considered. Essay due to Counseling Center by April.


    National Association of Women In Construction Greater Rochester NY, CHAPTER #314 - Eligibility: 1) must be a graduating female high school student entering college or a current college student continuing her education at an accredited college in the U.S. The scholarship is being offered to those only pursuing a degree in construction; construction management; architecture, civil, mechanical, and structural or electrical engineering etc. 2) must wish to pursue a career in construction: construction management, architecture, civil, mechanical, structural, or electrical engineering, etc. 3) must enroll as a full-time student to receive award.     Warsaw Educators Association Scholarship - Awarded to a graduating senior planning a career in the field of education. The student must be accepted in an institution of higher learning with a major in education. Requires an essay on the topic of education. See the Counseling Center for an application.

    Western Chapter of the NY Water Environment Association - $1,000 and $750 per year. Enrolled in environmental related curriculum at the undergraduate level (biology, forestry,chemistry, engineering and or water/waste water treatment).  Must be a high school senior at the time of application.  Application online www.wnywea.org  or in the Counseling Center.

    Genesee Valley Federal Credit Union - The Bruce Johnson College Scholarship - $1000 scholarship opportunity for GVFC members - www.GeneseeValleyFCU.com 

    May Deadline
    Community Foundation for Greater Buffalo - Many competitive scholarships available for students who are or will be attending college full-time and are permanent residents of one of the eight counties of Western New York. For more information visit the following website www.cfgb.org.

    Todd MacConnell Memorial Scholarship - Todd MacConnell was a selfless man who dedicated many hours volunteering for his community through sports programs, the fire department, EMS, and his church. We would like to honor Todd’s memory by giving 1-2 scholarships this year to a graduating Warsaw student with similar attributes. This is a scholarship for anyone who is interested in attending a technical school, trade school, community college or four-year college or university. The deadline is May 12, 2023.     Genesee Valley Secondary Principal Association Scholarship - Minimum 90 cumulative ave, 4 credits in Math & Science. Application in the counseling center.

    GRAPA SCHOLARSHIP - Pursuing Business or Finance Degree within 50 miles of RochesterApplication available in the counseling center.

    Miss Linda Bailey Scholarship - Criteria: Majoring in education, preferably elementary, must maintain a 2.5 GPA in college; scholarship is awarded after the completion of the first semester. Transcript to be given to the senior high counselor which will be forward to the Bailey family at which time a check will be issued from the business office of the school. Applicant must write a 300 word essay on what they have been involved in during high school and why they would be a good candidate for the scholarship, where they plan to attend college and what they will be studying and why they have chosen that major.

    Dana Fry Scholarship-VVA Chapter 193 - Available to everyone - Stop in counseling center for Application.

    Genesee-Wyoming County Counselor Association Helping Professions Scholarship - Applicant must be planning to attend an accredited college or university as a full-time student to pursue a degree leading to a career in the helping professions, have an overall GPA of 85 or above, and attach a transcript.  http://www.wnyschoolcounselor.org/scholarships

    May O’Brien Memorial Nursing Scholarship - The Wyoming County Community Hospital School of Nursing Alumni Association offers a nursing scholarship as a memorial to May O’Brien, one of the first graduates of the WCCH School of Nursing. Any senior who attends a school in Wyoming County and will be pursuing a career in nursing is eligible to submit an application for this scholarship.  The application must include a transcript of his/her grades, a 50-word essay as to why you want to be a nurse and the name of the school you will be attending. Applications are to be sent to Mrs. Linda Miller, 24 East Court Street, Warsaw, New York 14569. A selection from all the applicants will be made and winner will be notified.


    Michael J Kogutek Scholarship (PDF-492 KB) - This scholarship is intended to assist NYS Veterans, their families and patriotic students who share the ideals of the American Legion. Scholarship will be awarded based on monetary need, scholastic ability, realistic goals, extra-curricular activities and community involvement. All students must show proof that they have been accepted at an accredited college or university prior to receiving the scholarship.     Jack Marsh Memorial Scholarship/The Warsaw Chamber of Commerce Scholarship - $500 - Business or Service related field.

    Larry M. Appleby Scholarship - Based on academic achievement, participation in extracurricular activities and community and/or religious service and individual need. Stop in the counseling center for an application.

    Scholarships Chosen By Committee

    Al Harvey Music Scholarship - Al Harvey Music Scholarship was established to recognize and honor Al Harvey’s 39 years of teaching music, and his commitment to and love of music at Warsaw Central School and the community. This $100 scholarship is awarded to a graduating senior who has been involved with the music department through his/her high school career. Selection is determined based on Music Appreciation, Community Involvement, Leadership, Dedication and Determination.  The music department selects this award.

    Clyde W. Slocum Math & Science Scholarship - Through a gift to Warsaw central School, endowed a yearly scholarship funded through accrued interest from a principal sum of $10,000. The criteria for selection include: attaining high levels of math and or science, applying consistent, conscientious effort, displaying a willingness to go beyond usual expectations, willing to contribute to the common goals of the class by assisting others with learning, displaying exemplary   attributes of school citizenship, and bringing a high level of both intellectual inquiry and critical thinking to the learning process.   The Honor’s Committee selects the recipient.

    Dave Grove Memorial Scholarship - The Dave Grove Memorial Award is given in memory of Dave Grove, a lifelong resident of Warsaw.  Dave’s interest in barbershop singing spanned 50 years. He and three other men formed the OATKANS Barbershop Quartet.  Their group was recognized for their outstanding interpretation of Barbershop style music for many years.The $200 award is presented to a graduating senior who has shown excellence, genuine appreciation of music, and has met the standards set forth by the Music Department.  The music department selects this award. 

    Delta Kappa Gamma, Beta Gamma Chapter - A key purpose of Delta Kappa Gamma, an international honor society for women teachers, is to promote interest among high school students entering the teaching profession or a related area.  The Beta Gamma Chapter has initiated a recruitment grant for the schools that encompass our chapter.  Letchworth, Perry, Pioneer, Warsaw and Wyoming rotate this scholarship.  Selection is based on financial need, scholastic ability, genuine interest in teaching or a related area. Please see your Counselor to see where your school is on the rotation and for an application.

    Jean  & Paul Gardner Memorial Scholarship - Jean & Paul Gardner Memorial Scholarship is an annual scholarship given to a graduating senior in the top 30% of the graduating class who is pursuing a degree in education. The Honor’s Committee selects this scholarship.

    KIWANIS/GCC Scholarship - Kiwanis International is an international service club. Kiwanians make transformative changes in communities around the world. The Kiwanis will award up to $2,000 to any senior planning to attend Genesee Community College in the fall as a one-time scholarship. Warsaw Counseling Center will submit a list to the Scholarship Selection Committee Chairperson. Awarded at Awards Night in early June.

    Lauren Elizabeth Grove Memorial Scholarship - Mr. & Mrs. Dennis Grove present this scholarship in memory of their daughter, Lauren Elizabeth. The recipient is a senior of high moral character who is planning to pursue a career in medicine, preferably nursing, physical or respiratory therapy.

    Kailee Griffith Bridges Scholarship - Awarded to a female entering the Armed Forces (Marines first). If there are no females entering into the Armed Forces it can be awarded to a male. 

    MA/MC Graham Nursing Scholarship - The M.A. and C.A. Graham Nursing Scholarship is awarded to graduating seniors who are accepted in college pursuing a course in nursing. The Counseling Center awards this scholarship based on application and acceptance. Medical Society of the County of Wyoming of the Medical Society of the State of NY, affiliates with the VIII District, MSSNY.

    Scholarship Opportunity – Act Now! - The Livingston-Wyoming Arc Foundation Scholarships are now available to all high school senior students, residing in either Livingston or Wyoming County, specifically pursuing a career serving persons with intellectual and other developmental disabilities.  The Arc Foundation is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for persons with disabilities, and is the fundraising arm of The Arc of Livingston-Wyoming. Applications are currently available at each high school guidance department and/or on-line at www.lwarc.org. One (1) college-bound, high school senior will be chosen from both Wyoming County and Livingston County at the March Foundation meeting and notified.  We ask that the successful applicant(s) be available to join us at our Annual Dinner to accept their scholarship award and give a brief acceptance speech. The amount of each scholarship will be a maximum of $2,000, payable in $500 amounts annually. Students initially attending a 2-year school would be eligible to continue to receive the annual scholarship if they can verify participation in an appropriate program at a 4-year college or university.  Recipients of the scholarship will be responsible for “officially” notifying The Arc of Livingston-Wyoming annually of their continuation in an appropriate course of study.  An appropriate course of study refers to a career choice leading directly to “working with persons with intellectual and other developmental disabilities”, such as a teacher of special education, OT, PT, speech pathology, art therapy, music therapy, training in the direct care field, etc. Any questions, please contact Arc PR Director, Jeff Thomas at (585)-658-2828, extension 128.

    Warsaw Alumni Association - Warsaw Alumni Association Scholarship is award to a student planning to further his/her education (can be a technical school), does not need to pursue a teaching degree. Student should be ranked as the salutatorian of his/her class. 

    Warsaw Sports Booster Club - Athlete for All Seasons. Must have 3 seasons for 4 years of team participation.

    Bill Santora Memorial Scholarship Award - "How Do You Want to Be Remembered?" Coach Bill Santora influenced generations of students. The four pillars of Bill's life were family, faith, school, and athletics. This scholarship will be awarded to a student that maintains excellent grades, attendance, participates in sports, clubs, extracurricular activities, or part-time employment, along with giving back to the community. Criteria: Must have an attendance rate of 90% or better, must have participated in a sport for at least 2 years, must show community service, part-time employment, sports, extracurricular activities, Does not need to be college-bound.

    Warren D. Meidenbauer Memorial Scholarship - This scholarship is looking for 2 students who are passionate about something productive, have volunteered, have a good work ethic, and are involved in extracurricular activies (inside and outside of school). Preference is given to students studying business or attending a trade school.
