English Department Information

The Vestavia Hills High School English department is made up of dedicated teachers with diverse backgrounds and experiences who are committed to the education of students. At VHHS, students can find success and academic rigor in various levels of English courses. All grade levels offer standard English courses that meet the requirements of the Alabama High School Diploma and prepare students for entrance to college or a career. In 10th and 11th grades, students may also choose to enroll in Honors English, which provides increased rigor and preparation for Advanced Placement courses. Additionally, AP Language is offered to 11th grade students and AP Literature is offered to seniors. The department also partners with Jefferson State Community College to offer Dual Enrollment English for motivated juniors and seniors. No matter what level of English a student chooses to take, the English department faculty commit to challenging students and preparing them for success in college and beyond.
