Thank you for a wonderful 8th grade Family Night at Temple City High School!
Thank you to all of the families that attended the February 24th 8th grade family night at Temple City High School (TCHS). The TCHS Counseling Team presented general information about registering for classes, graduation requirements, college admission requirements, course details, and how students can be successful at TCHS and beyond. A recording and slide deck from the presentation are linked for your convenience.
To ensure a smooth course request process, 8th grade students must visit the Incoming 9th Grade Canvas Course and complete the 2025 8th Grade Course Registration Assignment. TCHS Counselors will be visiting Oak to meet with 8th grade students to review course requests on March 5th and 6th.
For answers to common TCHS questions, we encourage 8th families to review our 8th Grade Registration Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ). If a question is not answered on the FAQ, please add your question on the Incoming 9th Graders TCHS Course Request Questions 2025 Padlet.
We appreciated everyone who attended and look forward to seeing you all again soon!

Voter Registration for TCHS Students
In accordance with California Election Codes 2148(a) and 2146(e) and California Education Code section 49041 , TCHS is committed to voter registration and preregistration (https://registertovote.ca.gov/). The intention of the legislation is to provide “every eligible high school and college student [with] a meaningful opportunity to apply to register to vote.” This includes the following:
-
providing voter registration forms with orientation materials
-
placing voter registration forms at central locations, including voter registration forms with graduation materials
-
providing hyperlinks to, and the Internet Web site address of, the Secretary of State’s electronic voter registration system in notices sent by electronic mail to students and placed on the Internet Web site of the high school, college, or university
Temple City High School’s process begins through our government classes where students learn about the process. In addition, our juniors and seniors view a nearpod lesson that walks our students through the voter registration and preregistration process.
If you have any questions, please contact Mr. Rivas (brivas@tcusd.net).
