Welcome to STAR Academy! Our family-oriented campus is located just 10 minutes north of downtown Memphis. We offer a rigorous, tuition-free, public education for kindergarten through sixth-grade students.

If you’re new to the area or have a child ready for kindergarten, you’ll need to complete our admissions process to enroll.

Application Process

We accept applications on a first come, first served basis. If we receive more applications for a specific grade level than we have space to accommodate, we will conduct an enrollment lottery in compliance with the Tennessee Public Charter Law.

Step 1: Complete our “Intent to Enroll” form.

Step 2: Email or or make an appointment to submit all of the required documentation, including the following:

  • Student’s original birth certificate
  • Student’s original social security card
  • Student’s immunization certificate
  • Student’s most recent report card (if applicable)
  • Parent/Guardian ID
  • Two (2) proofs of residence

Step 3: Upon acceptance, attend a new student orientation.

Step 4: Complete the official registration packet at the new student orientation.

There is no better way to discover if STAR Academy is right for you than to visit us. We offer tours by appointment Monday through Friday (and on designated Saturdays) throughout the school year—with the exception of federal holidays and state exams periods.
