The Girls’ Tennis season came to an end in the quarter finals of the open tournament. Caitlin Sze, Sophia Chin, Leah Polansky, and Jia Yazon finished in the top 8 walking away with All-State titles.
Last Thursday, Girls' Track and Field qualifiers competed in the Class L Championship. The girls had solid performances to finish their season and Rhianna O'Meara ran a new personal best of 2:28.05 in the 800. Erin Dunn placed 4th in the Pole Vault, tying her previous personal best of 9'0", which qualified her for the State Open. Yesterday at the State Open Erin Dunn ended her season with a new personal best of 9'6". The Girls’ Track team will hold its banquet this Thursday, after putting away hurdles at 4:00 pm. Remember to turn in uniforms and sign up for banquet items in room 129 by Wednesday. Athletes should bring $5 to the banquet.

The session will explain the Precision Manufacturing certificate which can be obtained in just six months and qualify students for entry-level positions. The Girls’ Tennis team had a tough loss yesterday against Wilton 6-1. Sam Donovan played a great last match for South Windsor winning her line. The team finishes with an 18-1 record. Great job ladies!
Yesterday, the Girls’ Softball team won 4-0 against Danbury in the second round of the Class LL State Tournament. They play at home at 4:00 pm TODAY against Norwich Free Academy. Tickets are $5 for students and $10 for adults. Come out and support the Lady Bobcats!

Central Connecticut State University will host the National Summer Transportation Institute Program from July 15 to 26. This is a full-day program to stimulate interest in careers in the transportation industry such as highway design, transportation of people and cargo, inter-modal operations, laws, regulations, and safety. There will also be enrichment activities such as SAT prep, computer training, field trips, and hands-on projects. A limited number of spaces are available. The Cox Cable Advisory Council Scholarship deadline has been extended until June 1. If you are a Senior planning to pursue a career in any communications field, take advantage of this opportunity. A link to the application is in Naviance.
Many young girls in Southwest Asia are unable to attend school due to various reasons, including a lack of school supplies. To help these girls get the education they deserve, school supplies will be collected throughout this week. Donations can include: notebooks, glue sticks, rulers, erasers, pencils and pens. Donations can be placed in boxes outside the cafeteria, and in the lower pendulum.
Mrs. Belval’s Allied Health Class is hosting a Hat Drive. All hats are being donated to cancer patients at CT Children’s Medical Center. Hats must be brand new and have the tags still attached. The Girls’ Softball team finished their regular season going undefeated for a perfect 20-0 record! A FIRST for any softball team here at South Windsor! They are ranked 1st in LL, 1st in the Hartford Courant's Regional rankings, and 4th overall in the Game Time State rankings!! They open up State Tournament play on Wednesday, May 29.
Girls’ Track will compete in the Class L State Championship on Tuesday, May 28. Congratulations to the athletes that qualified: Erin Dunn in pole vault, Micaela Hanson in 100 hurdles and 300 hurdles, Katelyn Maycomber, Mackenzie Eppler, and Missy Sullivan in high jump, Candace Walsh in the 100, Rhianna O'Meara in the 800, and the 4X100 team of Jillian Thibodeau, Muneeka Munir, Amanda Walsh, and Candace Walsh.

All students in Algebra II with Trig CP and Honors who have satisfied the Manchester Community College program requirements, should report to the cafeteria on Wednesday, May 29 at 7:25 am with a fully charged Chromebook and charger to take the Math Accuplacer test. If you have questions regarding this exam, or your qualification, please talk to either your School Counselor or your Algebra II with Trig teacher.
Are you interested in trying out for next year's musical, 9 to 5? The auditions are next Tuesday, May 28 and Wednesday, May 29 after school. Sign up in the English Hallway. We need your singing, dancing and acting skills. There are lots of great parts!
Central Connecticut State University will host the National Summer Transportation Institute Program from July 15 to 26. This is a full-day program to stimulate interest in careers in the transportation industry such as highway design, transportation of people and cargo, inter-modal operations, laws, regulations, and safety. There will also be enrichment activities such as SAT prep, computer training, field trips, and hands-on projects. A limited number of spaces are available. The Cox Cable Advisory Council Scholarship deadline has been extended until June 1. If you are a senior planning to pursue a career in any communications field, take advantage of this opportunity! A link to the application is in Naviance.
Many young girls in Southwest Asia are unable to attend school due to various reasons, including a lack of school supplies. To help these girls get the education they deserve, school supplies will be collected throughout this week. Donations can include: notebooks, glue sticks, rulers, erasers, pencils and pens. Donations can be placed in boxes outside the cafeteria, and in the lower pendulum. Thank you!
Mrs. Belval’s Allied Health Class is hosting a Hat Drive! All hats are being donated to cancer patients at CT Children’s Medical Center. Hats must be brand new and have the tags still attached. The Boys Tennis Team closed out the final match of the regular season with a convincing 7-0 win over East Catholic. Congrats to Singles players: Ronnak Saxena, Jack Perry, Elijah Wood and Rahul Mahesh and Doubles Teams: Sam Kim & Donny Sauer, Jonathan Huot & Jason Rickenbacher and Andris Reba & Dan Zhu. The team had an excellent season with a final record of 11 wins and 5 losses. The Class L State Tournament starts Friday in East Hartford where the team will be competing in both singles and doubles. Great Job Bobcats and Best of Luck in the tournament!

Come on out and show your spirit by joining the Bobcat Robotics Team for a fundraiser this Wednesday! Join us at a frozen yogurt place at 1500 Pleasant Valley Road in Manchester on Wednesday, May 22 between 6:00 – 9:00 pm. Tell the cashier you are support Bobcat Robotics and 20% of the proceeds will be donated to support the team!
The Interact Badminton Tournament on Friday night was a huge success. The Animal Shelter Committee raised $331 for a total of more than $960 going to the local animal shelter. Congratulations to Ronnak Saxena and Jimmy Slahtosky for winning the tournament. And one last thank you to Mrs. Harlow, Ms. Andrews, and Mr. Garrish, as well as the custodians for supporting the event.

Congratulations to Girls’ Tennis for ending their season undefeated and #2 in the state. Yesterday they won 7-0 against East Catholic. Singles Sam Donovan won with a double bagel. Ananya Srivatsav played against a tough opponent but came out strong. Sophie Crane was MVP of the match, and brought home team pet Dwayne. Good luck at states!
Yesterday, Girls’ Track and Field competed in the Conference Championships. Katelyn Maycomber, Micaela Hanson, and Erin Dunn made All-Conference. Missy Sullivan was 6th in high jump, Micaela Hanson was 3rd in 100 hurdles, Jess Polito was 7th in the 3200, Jillian Thibodeau was 5th in 300 hurdles, Rhianna O'Meara was 8th in the 800, Abby Weiner was 7th in Javelin, Andrea Correia was 7th in long jump, and Candace Walsh was 8th in the 100.

The team’s last regular season match is today versus East Catholic at Magic Lincer Tennis Academy in Manchester. The team is looking for their final win before the state tournament on Friday!
