The thing about cosmetology school is that no matter who you are, where you come from or where you are headed, it will change you. It is an absolutely humbling and gratifying experience all at the same time.
A lot of people have the misconception that Sonora High Cosmetology School is a “state board school.” That refers to a school that teaches you strictly what you need to know in order to pass your state board exam. Most regional occupational schools are thought to fall under that category. Sonora High Cosmetology is different.
The instructors at the school have a lot to do with that. They teach with their hearts and souls and truly care about their students being “salon ready” by the time they graduate. They not only teach you the basics, they teach you everything you need to know to pass the test and go to work in a salon the very next day.
For me, cosmetology school was a wonderful experience. I learned a great career and a lot about myself. I work at Allure Salon and have been a cosmetologist for ten years. I go to work every day and truly love what I do. I get to provide a service to my clients, with a side of counseling, and have them coming out looking and feeling a lot better in a few short hours.
Every day is different with new challenges and new clients to share my time with. I really do get to have fun and get paid for it! I feel like I make a difference in my clients lives and they just happen to look great too! I could not imagine my life without being part of this industry. It is not only what I do, it is who I am. I owe a great deal of gratitude to the Sonora High Cosmetology School program for making me who I am today. I would and do recommend it to anyone interested in this field.
