Math 7
In Grade 7, instructional time will focus on four critical areas: (1) developing understanding of and applying proportional relationships; (2) developing understanding of operations with rational numbers and working with expressions and linear equations; (3) solving problems involving scale drawings and informal geometric constructions, and working with two- and three-dimensional shapes to solve problems involving area, surface area, and volume; and (4) drawing inferences about populations based on samples.

I am excited to share my passion for math with your child.
I grew up in Humboldt County and graduated from Humboldt State. Upon graduation I headed out into the workforce in a sales position in the Bay Area. I quickly realized sales was not for me. I decided I would like to teach and returned to HSU to complete my teaching credential in multiple subjects with an emphasis in mathematics.
My first teaching job was in Napa at Phillips Edison Charter School. As I taught all subjects at the various grade levels, I realized that I loved teaching math the most. I became our math coordinator and also travelled the country training other teachers in the Everyday Mathematics program.
When I started my family, I realized that I wanted to spend time with my babies! I took a year off and after that year returned to teaching at the middle school level here at Adele. Slowly, I have increased my teaching hours and am currently teach Math 7 60% and am the 40% teacher on special assignment, Secondary Math Facilitator.
