FOX 5 NEWS: SMUSD helping teens get Future Ready through financial literacy

With inflation at a record high and gas prices climbing, it is more critical now than ever that our teens understand the basics of financial literacy.
Starting at Mission Hills High School with teacher Jeff Montooth, the personal finance classes grew in popularity, that San Marcos High School personal finance teacher, Ms. Tara Razi, also adopted the curriculum.
These courses have sparked such tremendous interest from students, Ms. Razi was invited to be a speaker at the California Department of Education virtual event with State Superintendent, Dr. Thurmond. This event caught the attention of our local news media, with a recent segment on Fox 5 News and with KOGO radio:
