I became a part of Santa Rita a decade ago when my older daughter started Kindergarten, and quickly fell in love with the school, staff, and community. I am now in my fourth year of teaching Kindergarten here after getting my credential at Cal State, Los Angeles. I also have a Master’s in English from India, where I was born and raised. Kindergarten is the start of a child’s academic journey, and I do my best to teach intentionally and with a passion to make the year full of learning and fun. I believe that nurturing the innate curiosity in children makes them lifelong learners, and that we have a responsibility to instill the values of perseverance, kindness and empathy so that they can grow into respectful citizens of tomorrow. A little about my family: After enduring snowy winters in New York, North Carolina and Pennsylvania, my husband and I decided to make a home in the California sunshine. For the past 10+ years, we have raised our daughters in Los Altos, the older a high schooler now, and the younger still a Santa Rita Bobcat. The newest addition to our family is a Labrador puppy. We love taking nature walks, and spending time at the beach, though these days we focus mainly on keeping the puppy from chewing up the house.
