Students in Grades 3 and 4 will have the opportunity to snow shoe in their Physical education class, weather permitting.
We are hoping to take our students in Grades 3 and 4 snowshoeing several times in January or February during their physical education class time. We will provide the snowshoes for the students to use during their PE class. We are asking that they wear the following:
Winter Boots
Warm socks - they may want to bring an extra pair to change in to after we finish
Snow pants, nylon wind pants that are lined, nylon wind pants with something warm under them.
If you wear sweat pant that are not nylon or jeans please bring an extra pair in to
change into when they get wet.
Winter coat
Gloves or mittens
Hat or a hood on their coat
Sweater or sweatshirt
If students do not have any of the items please see if you could borrow them. If students do not have the items we may have to have the student stay inside if they don’t have them. We will send a note home the day before your child’s Physical Education class when they will be snowshoeing. Weather conditions will determine when we get to snowshoe. We would like temperatures in the teens or above, with very little wind chill, and at least 3-4 inches of snow.
If you have any questions please call Mrs. Cilip at 735-2000 ext. 4035 or Mr. Johnston at ext. 4029.
Thanks you for your cooperation
