Mr. Matt Drummond
Mr. Drummond is a graduate of Oglethorpe University in Atlanta, Georgia, where he played 2 years of varsity basketball. Upon graduating with a degree in child and adolescent psychology, he worked for 6 years in the the field of parks and recreation. He then attended Georgia State University, earning his teaching degree and his M.Ed. in the area of Special Education and has also earned an Ed.S. degree in Administration and Supervision. He has taught in the counties of Clayton, Fayette, and Rabun County.

Mrs. Shelley Drummond
Mrs. Drummond is a graduate of the University of Georgia where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture and a teaching certificate in Special Education and English Language Arts. Mrs. Drummond also holds certifications in therapeutic horseback riding, offering adaptive riding lessons to people with cognitive, physical, and developmental disabilities at Reins of Life Equine Center in Eastanollee, GA. Mrs. Drummond has taught in both private and public schools and was named the 2021 RCHS Teacher of the Year.

Mr. Bryan Getty
Mr. Getty is a 2000 graduate of RCHS. He earned a Bachelor’s in Business Administration from Piedmont College and a Master’s in Special Education from Georgia Southern University. Since 2014, Mr. Getty has served as a special education co-teacher at RCHS. Inducted into Piedmont’s Athletics Hall of Fame for tennis in 2014, he also serves as the RCHS and RCMS head tennis coach and FCA sponsor of RCHS.

Ms. Brooklyn Lester

Ms. Lester is a 2020 graduate of Surry Central High School. She earned a Honors BSED in Health and Physical Education with a minor in coaching at Western Carolina University in 2024. She is currently working on her MAEd: Special Education Severe/Profound at Western Carolina. Ms. Lester is also an assistant coach for softball and women’s basketball.

Mrs. Debra Paff
Mrs. Paff isn't from around here, but she got here as soon as she could. Born in Charlotte, NC, she endured two decades in suburban Atlanta before hightailing it to the northeast Georgia mountains. Earning her G.E.D. after a few years struggling in the traditional high school setting, she became a non-traditional student at Truett-McConnell College, then Piedmont College, earning her Bachelor's Degree in Special Education. She adores her two young teenagers, Myles and Annabell, and husband Jeff.

Ms. Savannah Watts

Ms. Watts is a 2009 graduate of Rabun County High School. She earned a Bachelor's Degree in English Literature from the University of North Georgia in Dahlonega. Ms. Watts then earned her Master of Arts in Teaching at Piedmont University. After graduation, she worked as a mentor and teacher at Mountain Education Charter High School in Rabun County. She loves being a teacher at her alma mater.

Mr. Bob Whitworth

Mr. Whitworth is a graduate of Emmanuel college with a Kinesiology degree specializing in sports management. In 2010, he furthered his education by earning a Master’s degree in Special Education from Piedmont College. Throughout his career, Mr. Whitworth has opened several businesses, including managing a fitness firm for two years and operating a poultry farm for five years. For the past 20 years, he has owned and operated a roller skating business. Mr. Whitworth has been an educator for over 10 years.

Coach Clay Worley

Coach Worley is a graduate of Dalton State College and the University of Phoenix. He taught at Towns Towns County Elementary from 2016-2019 as well as coaching football at Towns County High School. He taught at Rabun County Elementary from 2019-2023 before moving to RCHS. He currently coaches football at RCHS.
