In a continuation of a program offered by the USDA, Pasadena ISD will offer free breakfast and lunch to students for the remainder of the 2020-2021 school year through the National School Lunch Program.
The program offering free meals is open to all Pasadena ISD students, regardless of their family income or participation in face-to-face vs. virtual instruction.
“We want to remind parents that this resource is available to them,” said Mary Harryman, Director of Nutrition Services for Pasadena ISD.
For curbside meals, any child 18 and under can receive a meal. While children do not need to be enrolled in Pasadena ISD to receive the meals, the following state agency regulations must be met:
- Each child in the car will receive breakfast and lunch for each day distributed.
- If a child is not in the car, the family member must provide one of the following documents at the time of pickup:
- an official letter, email or electronic school document showing proof of enrollment;
- an individual report card;
- an attendance record from a parent portal (printed or electronic), that includes the child’s name;
- student ID cards;
- or birth certificates for children not in school.
The distribution of curbside meals will take place on Monday and Thursday afternoons from 4:30 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. The Monday distribution will include meals for Monday through Wednesday and the Thursday distribution will include meals for Thursday through Sunday.
The five curbside meal distribution sites throughout the district are:
- Dobie High School;
- Pasadena Memorial High School;
- Pasadena High School;
- Rayburn High School;
- and South Houston High School.
