Please join us in congratulating these hardworking members of the Pasadena FFA Beef Heifer Show Team on an extremely successful 2024 Cattlemen’s Congress in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma!
Sophomore Isaac Zavala and his Brahman heifer Lucy placed FIRST in their class in both the junior and open shows! Isaac also placed 6th in the very competitive intermediate division of showmanship. The judge spoke very highly of Isaac’s poise and professionalism. Little did the judge know…this was only Isaac’s second show ever! We are so very proud of this young man and were thrilled to be able to take him on his first trip outside of the great state of Texas!
Pasadena Jr. FFA Member and 8th grader at Bondy Intermediate Myka Mikolajchak and her Santa Gertrudis Heifer Martini placed first in their class and were division champions in both the junior and open shows. They went on the be named the RESERVE GRAND CHAMPION Junior Santa Gertrudis Heifer!
We are so proud of this homegrown heifer. It is hard to believe that the she was just 2 months old at her momma’s side this time last year at Cattlemen’s Congress.
Pasadena Jr. FFA Member and 6th grader at Carter Lomax Middle School Mabry Mikolajchak and her Santa Gertrudis Heifer Kahlua placed FIRST in their class in both the junior and open shows! The judge complimented Mabry on her outstanding showmanship. In the above picture you can see Mabry showing against a show team member from Connors State College and someone twice her age. We are proud of her for holding her own!
Pasadena Jr. FFA Member and 3rd grader at Turner Elementary Mayvin Mikolajchak and her Santa Gertrudis Heifer Kathy placed 2nd in their class in the junior show and FIRST in class in the open show! Mayvin and Kathy are an absolute dream team. In fact, the line between dog and cow gets a little fuzzy! We are so proud of this duo!
The success of these Pasadena ISD students does not happen without a lot of hard work and the support of lots of folks at home! We are truly thankful for a generous and supportive administration from the campus level all the way up to our amazing school board and superintendent. Thank you to all of the teachers who believe in our students and continue to push them academically!
