Hello Sea Lion Nation,
It is hard to believe that we are half-way through the school year. This second half of the year is a time of reflection and an opportunity for determined new action. One lesson that can be learned as we consider the first half of the year, is that we should always act as if what we do makes a difference – because it does! Parents and teachers significantly influence children’s lives each day. Young people are our greatest resource. Making a positive impact in the lives of our students is vital. As a team made of Southwest Middle School’s dedicated staff, many volunteers and supportive parents, we all work very hard to the benefit of our students. What we do each day matters!
Now, we have half the year still ahead of us, with Spring to brighten and lighten our days. I call upon us all to join together to charge the mountain, pass the torch, ignite the spirit, and complete the school year in a style worthy of who we are and all we value. We have work still to do. Through a partnership grounded in mutual commitment to all our students, I am confident that we will welcome June knowing that our efforts and focus enabled us to cross the finish line in the strongest way possible.
I remain eternally grateful for the community of support that we have and continue to build. Through you and this partnership we share, I have the privilege to be able to truthfully say that I come to work each day with both joy and appreciation. I thank you for that privilege and your continued commitment.
Let’s finish what we started!
