North Miami Out of District Enrollment Process for 2024-2025
To help us prepare for the next school year we are requiring all out of district students to complete a transfer application by a set deadline. This will help us streamline our out of district acceptance process and gather a count of out of district student requests. We will review applications in June and contact families before the start of our full registration process. The application deadline is divided into 2 separate categories for our out of district students. The details of each category are below, and each have a firm deadline.
We will have a full registration process that will open in July. Approved out of district students will complete that process along with our in-district students.
Current 2023-2024 out of district NMCS students
Students currently enrolled at North Miami Schools for the 2023-2024 school year will be automatically renewed for the following year as long as a transfer application is submitted by May 15th, 2024, and your student(s) meet the following criteria:
- No suspensions or expulsions exceeding 10 days in the past year.
- No suspensions or expulsions for possessing weapons in the past year.
- No suspensions or expulsions for causing physical injury.
- No history of unexcused absences.
- Not transferring solely for athletic reasons.
- Complete an out of district application by May 15th, 2024.
- One application per student: Each student in the household needs their own application.
- Renewing Transfers: Out-of-district transfers are valid for one year. You'll need to renew annually.
- Transportation: The parents, guardian, custodian, or student agrees to provide his/her own transportation to and from the school. If a student resides at an address that is already included in an official route description, transportation may be available for the student.
- Application Requirements: All applications must be complete to be processed. A separate application is needed for each child in your household.
Missed Automatic Renewal - (Current Students Only)
If you miss the application deadline for automatic renewal, please apply as a new out of district student. You will be added to the pool of transfer applications.
New Warrior out of district application
Complete an out of district transfer application no later than June 1, 2024.
To be considered for fall enrollment each student must meet the following criteria:
- No suspensions or expulsions exceeding 10 days in the past year.
- No suspensions or expulsions for possessing weapons in the past year.
- No suspensions or expulsions for causing physical injury.
- No history of unexcused absences.
- Not transferring solely for athletic reasons.
- Complete an out of district application by June 1st, 2024.
- One application per student: Each student in the household needs their own application.
- Transportation: The parents, guardian, custodian, or student agrees to provide his/her own transportation to and from the school. If a student resides at an address that is already included in an official route description, transportation may be available for the student.
- Application Requirements: All applications must be complete to be processed. A separate application is needed for each child in your household.
- Completed applicants: We will complete the record request process and reach out to schedule a building tour.
- Application status: Acceptance will be based on the criteria above and available spots once in district students have completed registration. You will be contacted with status updates as we go through the summer.
- Approved applications: Will be notified in July if space is available and will need to complete the full registration process.
- Priority will be given to out of district student who have completed the application by our deadline. Spots are limited.
