• Ms. Billington's Third Grade Class Promises and Expectations

    My Promises:

I will treat your child with respect and fairness.

I will encourage your child's self-expression and creativity.

I will stretch your child through challenging activities that require critical thinking, an active imagination, and self-discipline.

I will communicate regularly with parents/guardians via memos, notes home, and phone calls.

I will listen to your child and investigate any class problem, both academic and social.

I will follow through on promised rewards and disciplinary actions.

I will provide a safe and controlled learning environment.

    My Expectations:

I expect your child to treat all teachers, staff, and peers with respect and fairness.

I expect your child to be prepared for class each day.

I expect your child to take an active role in learning, trying his/her hardest on every task.

I expect your child to complete all homework assignments unless (s)he has earned a "No Homework" coupon.  Homework is not excessive and is a crucial part of your child's learning.

I expect your child to show you his/her agenda (assignments) every evening.

I expect your child to show you his/her completed homework.

I strongly encourage you as parents to be involved in your child's education by regularly spending time talking about school, enforcing homework and home reading assignments, and by participating in conferences with your child and teacher to jointly set academic goals.
