Does My Student Qualify?

How do I know if my student is eligible?

Students are eligible if they are in 7th or 8th grade and meet one of the following CBS requirements:

- Your family meets the income requirements based on the 2021-2022 income chart (see below)

- Your student is in foster care/dependent of the state, and/or

- Your family receives basic food or TANF benefits

A quick way to know if your student is eligible is if your family qualifies for free/reduced lunch in the Nooksack Valley School District - if so, your student will automatically qualify for the CBS scholarship.

Please use the 2022-2023 income chart below to check if you are eligible via College Bound's income requirements:

If your family makes equal or LESS than the annual income number on the chart per your household's size, then your student qualifies for this scholarship.

To be eligible, students must reside in Washington state.

Undocumented students can still qualify for the College Bound Scholarship. However, they must have residency in Washington State.

If my student changes school districts, will they need to be re-enrolled in College Bound?

If your student changes school districts, their enrollment in College Bound follows them to their next school. This is done automatically through the Washington OSPI once your student shows up in another school's system. You and your student do not have to complete anything for this process.
