Essay/Video Contest for high school juniors and seniors and college students who reside in Western New York or attend a high school or college in Western New York (including the following counties: Niagara, Erie, Chautauqua, Cattaraugus, Allegany, Wyoming, Genesee, and Orleans). Written essay or video submission accepted.November:December:January:Jan. 31 - Youth Humanitarian Award in Memory of Stanley Marcus - Open to Senior or Junior high school students who display humanitarian principles by word and deed.February:March:Mar. 15- Horatio Alger Scholarship - $25,000-$10,000 scholarships available for eligible Junior high school students. Eligibility criteria: Have a demonstrated financial need ($65,000 or lower adjusted gross family income), exhibit a strong commitment to pursue and complete a bachelor's degree (4 yr. college degree) at an accredited non-profit public or private institution in the U.S., be involved in co-curricular and community service activities, display integrity and perseverance in overcoming adversity, and maintain a minimum GPE of at least a 2.0 (75% or greater).April:May:June:July:Aug:Oct:
