PUBLIC COMMENT
Public Comment provides time for members of the audience to address the Board on any school-related matter not on this agenda. The Board can take no action at this time. Each speaker is requested to identify him/herself prior to addressing the Board and will be heard for up to three (3) minutes. The presiding officer of the Board shall determine, based on time constraints of the Board, whether some time less than three (3) minutes shall be allocated to individual speakers.
Public Comment on Items Not on the Agenda: Public comment on items not on the agenda will be taken as outlined in the Public Comment section of the Board agenda.
Public Comment for Items on the Agenda: Ninety-minutes prior to the start of each meeting, Google forms will be made available for members of the public attending remotely to complete public comment forms. For those individuals attending in person, public comment cards are available immediately prior to the meeting. At the start of open session, staff will announce that public comment for items on the agenda will be taken online or in-person through the end of the superintendent’s report. Following the superintendent’s report, public comment for items on the agenda will be closed.
AGENDA ITEMS
Any member of the public may request that a matter within the jurisdiction of the Board be placed on the agenda of a regular meeting. The request must be in writing and submitted to the Superintendent with supporting documents and information, if any, at least 10 business days before the scheduled meeting date. The Superintendent or designee will decide whether a request is within the subject matter jurisdiction of the Board and whether an item is appropriate for discussion in open or closed session. Please contact the Superintendent's Office at communications@mvschools.org or (415)-389-7705 if you have any questions.
COMMUNITY DROP-IN ZOOM
Superintendent Elizabeth Kaufman and Assistant Superintendent (Business Services) Michele Rollins will host a Community Drop-In Zoom meeting on the Monday prior to each Board meeting. This is designed to give the Mill Valley Community an opportunity to ask questions or give input on upcoming Board agenda items. The Zoom link can be accessed here.
COMMUNICATING WITH THE BOARD
If you would like to communicate with the Board outside of the meeting, you may send your correspondence via email to all Trustees and the Superintendent at LetterstotheBoardofTrustees@mvschools.org. These letters will not be considered public comment and will not be read aloud during the meeting.
