DEIB Resolution
PTA strives to create communities that provide safety, opportunity, and a nurturing environment for all children and families. As parents, we do everything in our power to protect our children from harm of all kinds, but the reality of continuing discrimination and injustice makes that impossible for many of our children and families. This cannot continue.
MV PTA Council denounces racial injustice and discrimination of all kinds, including the mistreatment of people based on their race, language, ethnic background, ability, religion, or sexual identity. We stand in solidarity with our district in its focus on increasing equality for all and decreasing racism and discrimination of any kind.
MV PTA Council joins our community, education, and equity partners in seeking concrete actions to address the pattern of institutional discrimination and systemic racism in our schools. We commit to work towards eliminating bias, racism, and inequities within our PTAs, MVSD, and our community as a whole.
We reaffirm our commitment to advocate for all children and we call upon our members to listen, educate, and pursue meaningful change to end institutional racism, and to promote the principles of inclusion, equity, and diversity.
