Dr. Jack Parker: Superintendent 

The Superintendent oversees all functions of the district to ensure quality instruction and meaningful learning opportunities continue to be provided to our students in an environment full of authentic engagement. See their biographies and academic preparation in their job descriptions below.

Mr. Chris Smedley: Assistant Superintendent 

Mr. Smedley serves the district focusing on school improvement and accountability, as well as human resources and student services.

GregElkins

Mr. Greg Elkins: Chief Financial Officer

Mr. Elkins manages the budget for the district and oversees the business operations for the school corporation, including all accounting and payroll functions.

ScottShipley

Dr. Scott Shipley: Director of Curriculum

Dr. Shipley works directly with the district teaching and learning team, teachers, and principals to develop programming, curriculum, and professional learning opportunities. He manages instructional support services and all government reports. He has been an administrator with Mt. Vernon since 2004.

SethHamilton

Mr. Seth Hamilton: Director of Technology

Mr. Hamilton is responsible for the district’s technology initiatives. He oversees the overall planning, organizing, and execution of all IT functions at MVCSC.  His responsibilities include: directing all building level IT operations, support and maintenance of existing applications, and development of new technical solutions.

LauraDurig

Mrs. Laura Durig: Director of Special Education

Ms. Durig is responsible for ensuring that our students who have disabilities receive a free and appropriate public education. Ms. Durig works closely with teachers and related service personnel supporting their capacity to meet the individualized educational needs of our students. Additionally, Ms. Durig is the director of the Mini-Marauder Preschool.

DerekShelton

Mr. Derek Shelton: Director of Operations

Mr. Shelton handles MVCSC Operations, including the Transportation and Maintenance Departments. Shelton also oversees all operations for the district, including safety.

Mrs. Maria Bond: Director of Community Relations

Mrs. Bond manages MVCSC's internal and external marketing/communications initiatives throughout the community, with the goal to maintain a positive perception of MVCSC’s district. Media relations, website, communications and marketing initiatives engage the community, staff and parents with MVCSC’s mission as the overarching directive.
