Welcome 2022-2023 students and parents. I am looking forward to a great year with you!

My name is Alessia Sartorio and this year I am teaching 10th grade US History and 10th grade Advanced US History.  I grew up in a bilingual and bicultural family in Northern Italy until I moved to the US to attend college.  I received a BA in History and Anthropology from Syracuse University, an MA in Anthropology (Historical Archaeology) from the University of South Carolina, and teacher accreditation from DePaul University in Chicago. I have National Board Certification in Social Studies-History. Before moving to Birmingham, I lived and taught in states as diverse as Illinois, Arizona, and Michigan. This will be my 18th year at Mountain Brook High School.  I am passionate about social and cultural history.
