Why Students Should Not Feel Obligated to Have a Job

The life of a highschool student is not as easy as it seems to be. The general stereotype views teenagers’ lives to be “too laid back”, and will say that “one day life will catch up to you” (like my ex-boss). Little do they know, life is catching up with us even without having the added stress of a job— especially in addition to the constant pressure to be liked, to be academically and/or physically accomplished, to live up to some parents' high expectations, and to be social all at the same time. The point is, students already have countless amounts of stress in their lives, and therefore, they should not feel obligated to work a consistent job.
