Mrs. Michelle Holdbrooks has taught chemistry, chemistry II, AP chemistry and environmental science for just over 21 years. She came to Mountain Brook High School after building a career in both the Shelby County and the Alabaster City School System. Michelle Holdbrooks is a graduate of the University of Montevallo where she received her Bachelors of Science Degree. She is a lab-based and student-centered focused teacher with a passion for chemistry. She is very involved in a continuing relationship and usage of the Alabama Science in Motion program.  She also integrates a variety of both in-person and virtual chemistry experiences, whether that be labs, quizzing or simulations. She was the Alabama Science Teacher Association teacher of the year in 2005 and has developed and presented laboratory and chemistry topic strategies at multiple ASTA annual conferences. Mrs. Holdbrooks will be teaching chemistry throughout the 2023/2024 school year.

Mrs. Holdbrooks enjoys spending time at the lake with her family paddleboarding or just relaxing.
