MBJH TECHNOLOGY BUNDLE
COVERED TECHNICAL PROBLEMS OR UNINTENTIONAL DAMAGEThe Dell Chromebooks that Mountain Brook Schools purchases are covered by a 3-year parts and labor warranty, which covers the machines for hardware failures, such as:
- Will not charge or will not turn on.
- Internal component failure.
- Keyboard or touch pad not working.
In the event that the Chromebook assigned to a student should develop a technical problem or suffer an unintentional mishap, the issue should be reported to the local school Technology Coordinator (TC). The TC will handle getting the machine serviced, and back into the student’s hands as quickly as possible.
NON-COVERED DAMAGE OR LOSS
In the event of a non-covered incident, such as intentional damage or loss, this too should also be reported to the local school TC. The Technology Department will work with the TC to determine if the machine can be repaired for a reasonable cost. The cost to repair the machine will be communicated to, and the responsibility of, the student and parents. If the machine is lost, stolen or intentionally damaged beyond reasonable repair, the fee to reimburse MBS for the Chromebook will be as follows:
JH School Year MBS Chromebook Reimbursement Fee
One (7th grade) $230 - 250
Two (8th grade) $160 - 200
Three (9th grade) $90 - 150
The Reimbursement Fee must be paid to Mountain Brook Schools directly. Once this fee is paid, the student will be assigned a replacement Chromebook, which is subject to the same liabilities and acceptable use policy.
