MISD Board Approves Two New Elementary Principals

 

At the Board meeting on June 19, 2023, the Midlothian ISD Board approved Katie Bergvall as the new principal of LaRue Miller Elementary and Napoleon Leiva as the new principal of J.A. Vitovsky Elementary. 

 

Katie Bergvall has spent the last 12 years in Midlothian ISD, most recently as the Assistant Principal of J.A. Vitovsky Elementary School. Prior to that, she was the Assistant Principal at The MILE campus. Bergvall has also served the district as an instructional coach and a teacher. She graduated with her bachelor's degree from Texas Tech University and earned her master's in educational leadership from the University of Texas at Arlington. 

 

"I am beyond thrilled to be coming home to Miller Elementary. I started my educational journey at LME and look forward to leading and working with the incredible staff, students, and family," commented Katie Bergvall. 

 

Napoleon Leiva comes to Midlothian ISD from Duncanville ISD, where he served as the Assistant Principal of Duncanville High School and was previously an administrative intern and teacher. Leiva worked as a dual language teacher for eight years. He graduated with his bachelor's degree from the University of Dallas and earned his master's in Educational Leadership from Texas Tech University. 

 

"I am ecstatic and blessed to join the MISD family," said Napoleon Leiva. "I look forward to meeting the students, staff, and families and helping be part of the next chapter of JAV!"
