MISD Board approves Executive Director of Human Resources

At the May 20, 2024 Board meeting, Midlothian ISD’s Board of Trustees unanimously approved Gaya Jefferson as the Executive Director of Human Resources.

“I am so excited for Mrs. Jefferson to join the MISD family and expect her professional experience and personal disposition to be a tremendous addition to the leadership team," said Dr. Aaron Williams, Chief Human Capital Officer.

Gaya Jefferson has 18 years of experience in public education. In Arlington ISD, she served students as a teacher and instructional coach for seven years before becoming an assistant principal, professional learning coordinator and Interim Director of Professional Learning.

Jefferson then served Desoto ISD as Director of Programs and Community Partnerships and Director of Professional Learning. In July 2019, Jefferson was named the Executive Director of Professional Learning for Richardson ISD, where she currently serves.

Jefferson earned a bachelor’s degree from Texas Woman’s University and a master’s degree in educational leadership from the University of North Texas.

“I'm looking forward to serving the students, staff and community of Midlothian ISD with excellence, integrity, and genuine care!” said Jefferson. “Midlothian ISD has already blessed me with a warm welcome and with that, I'm energized to support the entire learning family.”
