District set to celebrate Class of 2024

The MISD Class of 2024 representing Heritage High School and Midlothian High School will be celebrated Saturday, May 18 in front of family and friends during two graduation ceremonies held at Dr. Jim Vaszauskas Center for the Performing Arts center in Mansfield, Texas. The events signify the successful completion of high school by our more than 700 seniors who have demonstrated their readiness to begin their post-secondary journey.

The Heritage High School graduation ceremony is at 2 p.m. and Midlothian High School is at 7 p.m. Both ceremonies will be broadcast live at www.mansfieldisd.org/MISDTV. Visit the MISD Graduation webpage to learn more and read about the event location's bag policy.

This year's graduating class includes 1 National Merit Finalist, 4 National Merit Commended students, 24 National Recognition Scholars, and 141 National AP Scholars. We are MISD Proud to recognize the four top MISD graduates who earned the titles of valedictorians and salutatorians of the Class of 2024.

Grace Awalt, HHS Valedictorian
Grace Awalt has attended Midlothian schools since kindergarten. In the fall, she plans to study Engineering at Texas A&M University. During her time at HHS, she was on the cheer team and participated in UIL academics.

 

Jade Young, MHS Valedictorian
Jade Young attended Midlothian schools since kindergarten. She plans to attend Northwestern University on her road to attending law school. During her time at MHS, Jade participated in debate and mock trial. She was also a member of the Superintendent's Student Advisory Council.

 

Corey Milligan Jr., HHS Salutatorian
Corey Milligan Jr. has attended Midlothian schools since sixth grade. He plans to attend Texas A&M University to study Computer Data Science. Corey participated in UIL academics while attending HHS.

 

 

Emma Bender, MHS Salutatorian
Emma Bender has attended Midlothian schools since fifth grade. She plans to attend Mount Holyoke College, a liberal arts college in Massachusetts.
