College Board names 141 MISD students AP Scholars

The College Board annually awards national recognition to high school students with a GPA of 3.5 or higher who demonstrated outstanding performance on the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying and/or on their AP Exams. Students may earn one of three designations - AP Scholar, AP Scholar with Honor, or AP Scholar with Distinction. Criteria for each designation are:

1. The AP Scholar designation is granted to students who receive scores of 3 or higher on three or more AP Exams.
2. AP Scholar with Honor is granted to students who receive an average score of at least 3.25 on all AP Exams taken and scores of 3 or higher on four or more of these exams.
3. AP Scholar with Distinction is granted to students who receive an average score of at least 3.5 on all AP Exams taken and scores of 3 or higher on five or more of these exams.
