Why Marble Falls?
Why so many families choose Marble Falls to call home!
"The mission of the Marble Falls ISD is to inspire and empower all students to lead extraordinary lives and embrace the possibilities of the 21st century through relevant, engaging learning experiences led by inspirational and nurturing educators.
The focus on our District Mission delivers an array of exciting and challenging opportunities for students to become involved in various activities. All members of MFISD passionately work to teach students the State of Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills, on-grade level, and to the depth and complexity necessary for your child to achieve success at the new STAAR standard. Students at the elementary level participate in music, art and the University Interscholastic League (UIL) Academic competitions. Students in grades 6 through 12 participate in academic UIL contests as well as, band and choir. For students in grades 7 through 12, the options increase to include a full range of girls and boys athletics, cheerleading, band, choir, drill team, FFA and much more. Marble Falls’ UIL activities have a tradition of excellence and have earned many awards at the District, Regional and State level.
Marble Falls ISD is a progressive, growing school district located in the heart of the Highland Lakes region of the beautiful Texas Hill Country. In addition to lakes, fishing, boating, waterskiing, and golfing, you’ll find modern school facilities equipped with the latest technology designed to encourage engaged learning and facilitate leading-edge instruction. You’ll also discover top athletic and extracurricular facilities and equipment.
The District encompasses a very large land area (268 square miles) and serves the students, parents and communities of Marble Falls, Meadowlakes, Granite Shoals, Highland Haven, Cottonwood, Fairland, Smithwick, Horseshoe Bay South and Spicewood. Although large in size, the Marble Falls ISD area offers residents a home-town atmosphere with plenty of terrific dining and shopping alternatives. MFISD is classified as a 4-A district and has a growing enrollment exceeding 4,000 students. The District has four elementary schools, all of which offer pre-kindergarten through 5th grades: Colt Elementary; Marble Falls Elementary; Highland Lakes Elementary; and Spicewood Elementary. Attendance zones for the elementary schools may be accessed on the District website under "student/parent information." The District has three secondary campuses: Marble Falls Middle School (grades 6-8); Falls Career High School (a non-traditional alternative high school); and Marble Falls High School grades 9-12).
MFISD Encourages Partners in Education
There are a significant number of ways that parents, community members and businesses can also be involved in the education process. The District Educational Improvement Committee (DEIC) is a site-based committee composed of teachers, administrators, parents, community and business members. This committee helps plan the District calendar, staff development, and creates the District Improvement Plan, which guides the district in achieving the goals set by the Board of Trustees. At each campus there is a Campus Education Improvement Committee (CEIC) that meets monthly to assist the principal and staff in budget, staff development and procedural issues. To learn more about potential membership in the DEIC or to just receive more information, please contact the Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum & Instruction at (830) 693-4357. To become involved in the campus level committees (CEIC), please contact the Principal of the particular campus in which you are interested.
